Thank you @nhff 2026! The @divorceresortfilm team definitely lived free and fully at our East Coast premiere in Portsmouth this weekend!📽️💫

What a stupendous and heartfelt time it was at this year’s New Hampshire Film Festival. I’ve had poignant audience experiences with DIVORCE RESORT screenings before, but I was blown away by how many people came up to me these last few days to tell me how much they loved the film and share their own divorce stories. It touches me immensely to know that this intensely personal documentary resonates for multitudes of viewers.

That’s a testament to the prodigious talents of our crew: I’m so proud of my son @marcopolo_yolo for conceiving and producing this film with our director, Emmy-winning producer @cobyjbecker (his childhood best friend), and Emmy-winning producer @saad.alana. They’ve become our own “Amazing Three.”✨

The weekend was filled with screenings, filmmaker mixers, award ceremonies, and the beauty of the Granite State. I was especially glad to have my girlfriend Ginger and my ex-wife Pam there to experience it all, adding new layers to Marco’s vision of a powerful family tale.

🫶📘I often say that DIVORCE RESORT is a companion piece to my memoir FROM MANILA TO WALL STREET - and if you want more of that story, please join me on my next book tour stops in Florida and Massachusetts!

Take nothing for Granite.😉🌟 I’m thrilled to share that @divorceresortfilm will have its East Coast premiere at the 2026 New Hampshire Film Festival @nhff, with screenings on 10/16 and 10/18.

This little-documentary-that-could, conceived and produced by my son @marcopolo_yolo and his childhood best friend, director and Emmy-winning producer @cobyjbecker, is a testament to the power of resilience. The film follows my journey to seek an international divorce in Guam, but the larger story explores the meaning of love and identity after loss. For Marco and me, it’s the ultimate family story.

🎬DIVORCE RESORT will screen in NHFF’s Shorts Block 7, which features a combination of narrative and documentary offerings:

📽️🗓️Friday, October 16, 12PM EST

“For me, it’s a story of loss, but it’s also a story of love between a father and a son. And for [Marco] to do it… It bonded us.”

📽️Our @divorceresortfilm team is still reeling with joy from our screening at @heartlandfilm’s Indy Shorts Festival in Indianapolis. Here’s more footage from the Q&A following the “Telling Our Stories” program block, where @marcopolo_yolo @cobyjbecker and I shared the stage with other filmmakers such as Oscar winner @bgproudfoot, whose documentary THE BADDEST SPEECHWRITER OF ALL was co-produced with NBA champ @stephencurry30.

It’s true that DIVORCE RESORT chronicles the life-changing adventure of my international divorce in Guam. But the greater epic, still ongoing, is the journey that this film has allowed me to take with Marco. To have my son conceptualize this documentary and then co-produce it with Coby, his best friend since childhood, is to me the ultimate definition of a family story. Even through the pain of seeking an ending, we’ve managed to forge a new beginning with each other, defining our father-son relationship in new ways as creative collaborators. (And yes, as Coby says, it often feels like I’ve been blessed with two such visionary sons.) It’s a gift I never expected, but for which I am forever grateful.

🙏✨I continue to be astounded and honored by the sincerity with which audiences have embraced DIVORCE RESORT. Thanks always to our dedicated, extraordinary crew for their magic:

👀Stay tuned for exciting updates as we prepare for the next steps in this film’s journey.

🎬💫In the meantime, deepest gratitude to all who made Heartland an outstanding experience: Thank you to Heartland’s Artistic Director @gsorvig, Programming Coordinator @seopsahl, and their superb staff; to @livingroomtheatersindy for hosting the screenings; to our fellow filmmakers and crews; to our fantastic DIVORCE RESORT team - and to Marco and Coby, the best creative duo I could ever ask for.

With Foo Fighters back out on tour, I started thinking about when I worked on What Drives Us, directed by Dave Grohl.
It’s one of those projects that sticks with you — not just because of the music, but everything behind it. What it takes to make it, and what drives us to do what we do creatively.
Ended up working with some great people through it too, including @therapy_studios and the team at Blackmagic.
Check it out! -

🎬✈️ That’s a wrap on South By Southwest! As we leave Austin, I can’t help but think that winning comes in many forms. It’s not just a trophy or an award.

Sometimes it comes in the form of a father and son bonding, or three friends sharing a laugh and happy memories. Or audience members coming up to say how much they were moved by a film - as has happened often since we started this incredible journey with DIVORCE RESORT’s premiere. Or the outpouring of love and affection we all felt for one another on our crew, and that we’ve received from the viewers at our screenings.

Congratulations to all the winners of @sxsw’s Documentary Short Awards! And thanks for the memories and the beautiful gift of SXSW! Can’t wait for the next adventure with this visionary team. Stay tuned for more. 🙏🌎💫

🎥🌟 From the making of @divorceresortfilm, as I shared last night at our final South By Southwest screening, I learned there are many kinds of love - particularly a parent’s love for a child. (My statement even made our Q&A moderator cry.) In the journey of working on this documentary, I have come to cherish my relationship with my son @marcopolo_yolo, who produced it with director @cobyjbecker, his best friend since the third grade, in remarkable new ways.

Following last night’s screening, Coby spoke about finding our filmmaking family through the creation of DIVORCE RESORT. These young visionaries, pooling their talents together to craft a film that is an intensely personal yet universal story about love and life, really have become a tight family unit. I see Marco chasing his dreams with his chosen “siblings,” and I have never been prouder to be his dad.

By the end of tonight, @sxsw will have announced the 2026 Audience Award winning films, which become eligible for Oscar nominations. Whether DIVORCE RESORT receives an award this evening or not, and wherever this documentary goes from here, we are all blessed to have been part of forming something so special. As our co-producer @saad.alana said, “having that delusion [of success at SXSW] affirmed is extremely powerful.” And as I always say, you have to keep going, no matter what. 🙏

🎬🥳 Congratulations to our DIVORCE RESORT family for an amazing SXSW experience!

🎥🍿 DIVORCE RESORT is still going strong! Our second screening happens tonight at 6PM, Rollins Theatre at South By Southwest Film Festival.

The @divorceresortfilm experience at @sxsw has already been a whirlwind. We’re overwhelmed by the support this documentary has received. As always, I’m grateful for and awed by our gifted production team - the childhood best friend duo of my son, producer @marcopolo_yolo, and director @cobyjbecker (who have known each other since the third grade); Emmy-winning producer @saad.alana; superb cinematography by DP/editor @jessesuchomel; melodies by composer @dapperschnaper; and more. Here are highlights from the crew’s red carpet moments during our first screening this past weekend.

Sometimes I still can’t believe this crew wanted to follow me to Guam for a story about my divorce. 😂 But I’m so glad they did. Now the world can see the creativity and vision these young artists are bringing to the industry.

🎬 DIVORCE RESORT screens tonight, 3/17 at 6PM as part of SXSW’s Documentary Short Program presented by @vimeo. Tomorrow, 3/18, the SXSW Audience Award ceremony will determine the festival winners whose films become eligible for Oscar nominations. We look forward to what dreams may come!

🎥 “I think the contribution I’m most grateful for is just kind of the synthesis mind-meld of our team…” Director @cobyjbecker with co-producers @marcopolo_yolo and @saad.alana at the world premiere of @divorceresortfilm, South By Southwest Film Festival

Getting to work with my son Marco and Coby, who has been his best friend since the third grade, has been the thrill of a lifetime in making DIVORCE RESORT. Thank you to everyone who came out to Saturday’s premiere screening of this special film at @sxsw. I’m bowled over by the amazing reception, and I’m astoundingly proud of our production team, the true stars of the project. 🙏🌟

Seeing Marco and Coby grow from their childhood in Stamford, CT, where they were always entranced by the movies, to manifest their dreams with such a deeply personal, moving, and innovative film is extraordinary. (And I’m not just saying that because they made me the main character.) As Coby mentioned, they were in sync every step of the way.

Enormous gratitude for the artfulness, trust, and care our team gave to DIVORCE RESORT, which follows my journey to seek an internationally-recognized divorce in Guam. From Coby, Marco, and Alana’s uncanny storytelling intuitions, to our DP/editor @jessesuchomel’s willingness to try anything, to co-editor @jackcraymer’s omniscient eye, to @coreysandtoes for dazzling underwater footage and being a terrific source of Guam cultural knowledge, and more - this film was a labor of love in every respect.

🎬 DIVORCE RESORT will screen again on Tuesday 3/17 before the SXSW Audience Award ceremony on Wednesday 3/18. Award winners become eligible for Oscar nominations. Keep the good thought!
