Detroit ‘67 was an outstanding production by playwright Dominique Morisseau and directed by Aaron Reese Boseman! It took you back in time to the rebellion that took place in Detroit, and how one family coped with the uprising while trying to grab their piece of the American pie. The set design and Motown music added to the 60s’ ambience. The actors did a remarkable job bringing life to their respective character. Shout out to actors Tamarus Harvell and Shenise Danyél who killed it during their climatic scene, which brought tears to my eyes. This must see production was both entertaining and heartfelt. It is showcased by Pulse Theatre Chicago and can be seen at the Eta Creative Arts until November 1st.
