🎧SMASH by Penelope Ward & Vi Keeland
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This audiobook had me in a chokehold, and I am STILL emotionally recovering. 😭

Andi Arndt, Aiden Snow and Lee Samuels didn’t just narrate this story; they made me FEEL every ounce of longing, guilt, heartbreak, and desire. Every emotion hit harder, every moment felt more intense, and walking away? NOT AN OPTION. 🎧

But the story itself? A forbidden romance packed with impossible choices, complicated feelings and chemistry that had me questioning EVERYTHING.

Talia, girl… WHAT ARE WE DOING?!

Calder had my heart, Rafe had me swooning and that tension? ABSOLUTELY UNREAL. 🥵💔

And Rafe turning shattered glass into something beautiful? The symbolism, the artistry, the emotional depth… I was DONE.

I wanted to protect Calder, question Talia’s decisions and lose my mind over Rafe all at once. And somehow, I loved every emotionally devastating second of it.

A million stars if I could. Zero emotional stability. Rafe is to blame.

Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland, your ability to turn complicated emotions into unforgettable stories is unmatched. You didn’t just break my heart; you made every shattered piece feel worth it.

🎧 Listen to it. Feel everything. Let it shatter and steal your heart. #bookstagram #forbiddenromance #audiobook #books #romancebooks

Carved in the Shadows by @aljacksonauthor

AL Jackson truly knows how to write a romantic suspense. In fact she is my go to for romantic suspenses. It’s the way she writes them with her flashbacks that always have me on the edge of the seat wondering how the plot is going to unfold. And Carved in the Shadows is no different!

After Forged in the Fire I was fully invested in the relationship between Trevan and Elena. I mean brother’s best friend and he’s living with her to protect her... Oh and there’s only one bed. Say less. Those tropes right there sucked me and the plot is what had me fully invested. And let me tell you something, the strength that Trevan displayed to deny himself what he really wants, Elena, should be studied because holy blue balls. He’s a better man than I would be because I would have thrown that oath out the door the moment I stepped foot in that tiny apartment with Elena. But when the “F” it moment happens, prepare yourself babes because it’s explosive. I will also say, this is a she falls first but he falls harder book. Which as you can imagine, Elena has been chasing this man for years 👀

If you read AL Jackson’s previous series, Moonlit Ridge, and you loved Under the Endless Moon, then you will LOVE this book. There are a lot of similarities with tropes and the forbidden aspects of the FMC being the MC presidents younger sister. But with that being said, the plot is different. Yes you will still get those elements of suspense that we all love with the flashbacks that tell a story along with the overarching plot that will get you to that plot twist that AL Jackson does beautifully. All I am saying, if you loved the vibes of Under the Endless Moon, then buckle up babes because you are going to love Trevan and Elena.

Carved in the Shadows by AL Jackson is a romantic suspense between the VP of the vigilante MC the Crimson Crows and the MCs president’s very much off limits baby sister.

What to expect in Trevan and Elena’s book:
- brother’s best friend
- roommates to lovers
- age gap
- he’s her bodyguard
- she falls first, he falls harder
- it’s always been you
- grumpy x sunshine
- secret society
- band of brothers

✨ARC/ALC Review✨
🍎Carved in the Shadows🍎 by @aljacksonauthor
🎧: @offmicandi @therealaustinstone

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I’m such a sucker for a brother’s best friend trope and this one truly delivered.

Elena has been in love with Trevan for as long as she can remember. She’s lived inside a bubble her brother has created and just wants to spread her wings and live her life. Trevan has always been her protector, the one man who will never let anything happen to her. He took an oath and is determined to keep it. Trevan battles his duty over his heart and had SO MUCH restraint. The push and pull of will they or won’t they kept me at the edge of my seat.

The angst and the yearning between these two made their chemistry burn that much brighter. Once they finally come together, there was absolutely no going back. You could feel how deeply they loved each other. The longing, the heartache, and the desperation to be together put these two on a journey to find their HEA and you could feel it through the pages.

Being able to immersive read is always an absolute joy and Andi and Austin really gave an amazing performance. They really captured the essence of these two characters and brought forth the emotions and the chemistry.

Thank you to @valentine_pr_ and @aljacksonauthor for the early copies! Carved in the Shadows is out now!

✨Gifted ARC & ALC✨
Carved in the Shadows by @aljacksonauthor
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Available NOW!

PHEWWWW I really enjoyed this book’s deliciously forbidden vibe with a brother’s best friend romance; it was elevated with forced proximity and I needed to know where Elena and Trevan’s story would go!

THOUGHTS 💭
🏍️ The author used throwbacks to weave together a story that, in the end, made my jaw drop! I liked seeing how our MCs met and how they because each others’ worlds.
🏍️ I couldn’t get enough of the “it’s always been you” and the pining and the “we can’t do this.”
🏍️ There is so much guilt and sadness. Our poor MMC Trevan was taught by the one person who should have loved him unconditionally that he didn’t deserve anything good; that he’d sully anything he touched. And I loved watching him overcome that.
🏍️ Our FMC Elena was the MC princess; sheltered, untouchable, and ready to spread her wings (as much as her older brother would allow).
🏍️ The friendship Brinley and Elena shared was beautiful and supportive and fun.
🎧 I looooooved the duet narration for this one!
🎧 Andi Arndt is one of my faves and she absolutely delivered telling Elena’s side of the story.
🎧 Our male narrator had quite the task of differentiating between so many male characters - I was able to differentiate each character’s voice, which I appreciated!

Thanks so much to @aljacksonauthor for the wonderful ARC and @valentine_pr_ for the ALC!

✨ Carved in the Shadows Review ✨

Carved in the Shadows is the second book in the Crimson Crows series by @aljacksonauthor. From the very beginning I was hooked and the way I am obsessed with these two is an understatement!

Trevan and Elena have known each other since they were kids and have a really close bond. Trevan has always been Elena’s protector and would honestly do anything to keep her safe. He is also her brother’s best friend and VP of the Crimson Crows. She is off limits but he can’t help but want her because she is his home. He is grumpy, ruthless, protective, and caring. This man literally has my heartttttttt.

Elena has been in a golden cage her entire life but she wants to forge her own path in the world. Dark things have happened to her in life but it never dimmed the light in her eyes. If anything it made her more determined to go after what she wants especially when Trevan is involved. She is sunshine, sassy, determined, independent, and loves hard.

The pining and yearning for each other goes so hard in this one. Holy hell it was palpable especially in the audio! I also really loved the suspense and did not see the twist coming. I can’t wait to see what is in store next for the Crimson Crows!

The audio was narrated by @therealaustinstone and @offmicandi in duet narration. I freaking LOVE these two. Andi really brought Elena’s fierceness and determination out in full force which I loved. Austin brought a real vulnerability to Trevan that absolutely broke me at times. These two have such a way of bringing their characters to life and making you fall hard for them.

You will enjoy this book if you like the following:
- Small town
- Brother’s best friend
- Forbidden
- Age gap
- Roommates to lovers
- Secret Society
- Band of brothers
- It’s always been you

Thank you so much A.L. Jackson and @valentine_pr_ for the gifted copy!

WHAT YA READING WEDNESDAY
What book are you currently reading?

Happy Release Week to @aljacksonauthor and her latest book, CARVED in the SHADOWS.

A.L Jackson hits all the right notes EVERY. DANG. TIME! The family. The connection. The protectiveness. The history. AND the way the characters battle for each other. It is always just done so well. From the MC’s right on down to the supporting characters, Jackson gave it all to us with Trevan and Elena in Carved in the Shadows, the second book in the Crimson Crows series.

Combining Trevan and Elena’s pasts with the present along with their electrically charged mutual pining, and we had one beast of a book that I couldn’t get enough of. I loved how much these two cared for one another and protected each other, yet held back their true feelings. And once they get a taste? So much fun watching them navigate their feelings and trying to deny what they thought wasn’t possible while dealing with some suspense that put them in harm’s way. Plus, hearing this through Andi Arndt and Austin Stone’s duet performance on the audio? All the emotion and chemistry is brought to life.

🏍️ 📚ARC/ALC REVIEW 🏍️🎧

This is a delicious, forbidden love story with a heart melting, tortured, morally grey hero and a beautiful young woman trying to find some independence from her brother and the Motorcycle Club that has always fiercely sheltered her. Prepare yourself because Trevan and Elena will completely steal your heart.

Trevan is Vice President of the Crimson Crows motorcycle club. His oldest friend is Silas, President of the Crimson Crows. And Silas’ sister is Elena, the woman Trevan wants but knows he can never have. Trevan has been tasked with protecting Elena because she’s moving out from the compound and reaching for some freedom. Protecting Elena will be quite the challenge for them both.

“𝘚𝘩𝘦’𝘴 𝘮𝘺 𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘰𝘣𝘴𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯, 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘰𝘣𝘴𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘐 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘯𝘶𝘧𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘰𝘳 𝘪𝘵’𝘥 𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘶𝘱 𝘤𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘺 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦.”

Let the angst and the pining begin . . .

𝗡𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗶 𝗔𝗿𝗻𝗱𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗱𝘂𝗲𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼. 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗶 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁. 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻? 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗹𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗻. 𝗬𝗲𝘀 𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲!

Trevan struggles with his demons and keeping away from Elena. He’s so protective of her but tells her they can’t be together and that frustrates her. Elena is determined to have him and she’s fierce when she has to be. When he finally can’t resist her any longer, buckle up, it’s a LOT! Oh and when Trevan confronts Silas with the truth about his feelings for his sister? Fireworks!

Of course there’s always danger lurking around the Crimson Crows and when it comes way too close to Elena, Trevan will burn everything down to save her.

This is book 2 in the Crimson Crows series and can certainly be read as a standalone. However, you’ll definitely want to experience Silas and Brinley’s story in book 1! #crimsoncrows #newrelease #valentinePR

It was a terrible idea to agree to move in with my best friend’s little sister…

She is everything I’ve ever wanted and the one thing I can’t have. As our motorcycle club’s Vice President, I’m charged with her protection.
Touching her would be a penalty subject to death. When she demands the chance to spread her wings, it’s my duty to go with her. I knew staying at her new apartment would be excruciating. Listening to her in her room and imagining her under the fall of the shower. But when she asks me to crawl into bed with her so she won’t feel so alone, there’s nothing I can do.

One brush of her hand and I’m crumbling.

One crook of those fingers and I’m trapped.

One reckless night and there’s no going back.

Only with the lives we lead, our enemies are never far away, and as she begins to receive threats, I’m in a race to end the threat before it’s too late.

Soon, our secrets unravel, and I’m faced with the consequence of loving her. But I promised her everything, and I’m willing to offer the greatest sacrifice.
