@holladay1856 ANCIENT CAVE COLLECTION This bottle showed up today out of nowhere. THANK YOU SO MUCH! I wasted no time. So far in 2026, this is hands down my favorite double-oaked expression and it may already have secured a spot among my top five whiskeys of the year. This is the Holladay Ancient Cave Collection Double Oaked Cask Strength Straight Bourbon Whiskey 🥃 114 proof 🥃 Soft Red Wheat mash bill 🥃 Aged 6 years, 8 months 🥃 Finished in American oak with a No. 3 char First, let’s talk about that color ~ Absolutely insane. A deep brownish-red with a beautiful ruby glow when the light hits it. THE NOSE ~ Dark caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, and seasoned oak lead the way. Beneath that are touches of dark cherry, toasted wheat, and warm baking spice. The oak is immediately present, but it works beautifully alongside the sweeter notes. THE PALATE ~ Rich, warm, and packed with flavor. Caramelized sugar, vanilla, dark fruit, cinnamon, and toasted oak coat the palate. That second barrel makes its presence known with a deep charred character that almost comes across like toasted wood fresh from the fire but without becoming overly bitter or dry. At 114 proof, it delivers a confident wave of heat, but the warmth builds gradually as it travels down the palate. It’s powerful, yet controlled, with the soft wheat helping round out those bold oak and char notes. THE FINISH ~ Long, warm, and oak forward. Toasted char, dark caramel, cinnamon spice, and a slightly drying oak note linger well after the sip. That deep warmth settles into the chest and keeps calling you back. The whiskey is outstanding, and the bottle presentation is beautiful in its own right. This is exactly what I want from a double-oaked bourbon: bold oak, deep sweetness, serious character, and enough proof to make every flavor stand up. For me, this is easily one of the best bottles I’ve tried so far in 2026. Do not sleep on this one. Holladay absolutely delivered. 🥃🔥 #holladaybourbon #weekend #doubleoaked #caskstrength #bourbon

@silverthornreserve Blender’s Art The Rye Blend Silverthorn Reserve is an independent whiskey brand founded by Drew Thorn, the former CEO who spent a decade helping launch and build Sagamore Spirit into a nationally recognized rye brand. With Silverthorn, Drew has taken a smaller, hands on approach curating single barrels, creating custom finishes, and producing nano-blends of only two to ten barrels. Tonight, I’m getting into the Blender’s Art Rye Blend, a blend of straight rye whiskeys carrying a 10-year age statement and bottled at 113 proof. Nose ~ Peppermint, cinnamon, vanilla, and warm baking spice. Palate ~ The peppermint comes through immediately, followed by cinnamon, brown sugar, gingerbread, and a hot wave of rye spice. Finish ~ Long, warm, and spicy, leaving behind plenty of peppermint, cinnamon, and seasoned oak. This is a an interesting rye It combines eight Indiana barrels using both 95% rye and 51% rye mash bills, including a double oaked 95% rye component. Silverthorn also sent me its Blender’s Art Bourbon Blend another 10-year expression bottled at 115 proof so I’ll be getting into that one next. #monday #blenders #ryewhiskey #straightrye #whiskeyreview

🥃 @kooperswhiskey 8-Year Straight Bourbon Whiskey 114.8 Proof THANK YOU FOR SENDING FOR MY REVIEW. This is now the third Koopers expression I’ve tried, and I’ll honestly say it they have not missed yet. Everything I’ve experienced from them has been impressive, and this Texas Oak continues that run. This barrel-proof bourbon was distilled by MGP in Indiana with a mash bill of 75% corn, 21% rye, and 4% malted barley. After beginning its journey in traditional American oak, it was finished in custom toasted casks made from Texas-grown white oak. Nose ~ Toasted caramel, maple syrup, dark cherry, orange peel, and pecans. The oak makes its presence known. Palate ~ Baked apple, stone fruit, brown sugar, cinnamon, and toasted oak arrive with a noticeable grain-forward character. The grain is definitely there, but it never becomes overwhelming or takes away from the experience. At 114.8 proof, this one drinks considerably hotter which I enjoy. Finish ~ Long, warm, and lingering. Cinnamon spice, oak, honey, and caramelized sweetness remain on the palate while that heat continues to build and hang around. The combination of mature bourbon and toasted Texas-grown oak gives this pour plenty of character. It may be a little aggressive for someone who prefers a softer whiskey, but if you enjoy bold barrel-proof bourbon with strong oak influence and lingering heat, this one delivers. Only two casks were produced, yielding just 360 bottles at a suggested retail price of $70. Based on the three Koopers expressions I’ve experienced so far, this brand deserves more attention. 🥃 Bottle Introduction ~ Little & Foster Whiskey Co. Marriage of Mash Bills THANK YOU FOR SENDING ME THIS. @littleandfoster Whiskey Company is a new venture from longtime friends John Little and John Foster, the original founders of Smooth Ambler and this is their first release. This straight bourbon brings together two different recipes. A high-rye bourbon and a low-rye bourbon, both aged for more than nine years. It’s bottled at 107 proof, non-chill filtered, and carries an MSRP of around $79.99. Two things immediately stood out to me. From the moment I popped the cork, I was hit with a strong burst of fruit punch. In my opinion, the nose is definitely fruit-forward, and it pulls you in before the first sip. Then there’s the finish. This one leaves behind a lingering, tingly heat that continues hanging around after the sip is gone. At 107 proof, it lets you know it’s there, but that warmth adds another interesting layer to the experience. A nine-year age statement, two mash bills, non-chill filtration, and a respectable proof all at around $80 make this a bottle whiskey enthusiasts may want to keep on their radar. This is only my introduction to Little & Foster, but so far, that fruit-punch nose and lingering heat have definitely grabbed my attention.
