Today was the first time I brought Levi into one of my happy places — the studio! 🎶

When I told him we were going, the whole ride he kept saying, “Mommy, I’m excited… we’re going to do music!” 🥹

And he did fairly well for his first time. (He needed a few reminders to keep quiet while recording 🤣)

Most days, he’s walking around the house beatboxing, creating melodies, drumming on anything within reach, and singing. It honestly blows my mind watching him get in his little zone. I try to be inconspicuous, just quietly admiring these moments because I know they’re becoming memories before my eyes.

I think I’m going to let him tag along with Mommy a little more often. ❤️🎶

My little music buddy. 🥹

As the time draw closer, my nerves are all over the place, but my spirit isn’t high anticipation. My prayer is that these two days will be an answer to many of the questions, concerns, frustrations, and burden, so many of us have been carrying in this season. This is so much more than an event! I pray you’re able to be in the room! The time is short. The call is urgent. We must be ready! #PRAYER #WORSHIP #WORD #PREPARATION

Today is the day! We have our first rehearsal for AWAKEN: Urgent Preparation, and when I say I’m excited, I CANNOT WAIT!🔥There is something so special about watching what God has placed in your heart begin to take shape. This gathering is more than an event, it’s a call to awaken, prepare, pray, worship, and get our hearts ready for the Bridegroom.

I’m believing God for unity, spiritual chemistry, fresh oil, and a sound that will create an atmosphere where hearts are turned toward Him. The preparation has begun!

AWAKEN is coming, and I’m expecting God to do what only He can do!

8 cities. 4 conferences. 3 conventions. 2 summits. 2 reunions. 1 memorable summer. Busy days, sleepless nights, and I wouldn’t trade a single stop.

If I can describe this year’s National Baptist Convention’s Congress of Christian Education in one word, it would absolutely be GRATEFUL.

I’m grateful to have been blessed to return to the Congress to serve as YYA Director of Music & Worship Arts for another year. The amazing work of Rev. Michael Thompson, Zerathan Hawkins-Davidson and the Children’s Rally staff, along with Director Stacey Benn, Brandon Booth, and the Youth Rally Staff is absolutely next to none, and it is an honor to work alongside each of you! Thank you for bringing your groups together to sing for the YYA President’s Address AND still operating within your spaces with excellence!

Additionally, I returned as an instructor for the second year to teach “Music & Ministry: Understanding the Melody Behind the Message.” To pour into so many young musicians, singers, dancers, and upcoming leaders within the Worship Arts space is an honor I can never fully explain. Looking forward to seeing how this space can be expanded in the future.

Finally, there is the iROCK Choir. I have so many words, yet not enough. Each song presented a challenge that you all rose to the occasion for and I can’t thank you enough. Ya’ll SAAAAAANG!!

To the YYA House Band, I love and appreciate yall more than you know!!!

God has really blessed this convention and I can’t wait to see how we move forward. To every moment, and I do mean EVERY MOMENT, God still continues to get the glory.

GRATEFUL!
