Fafi x Galerie Chenu-Longhi x L’Imagerie Stepping into Fafi’s world through « Sugar, Spice & Boys Tears », presented at Galerie Chenus Longhi, is to discover an artistic practice that has left a lasting mark on the history of graffiti. At a time when the scene was largely dominated by men, she forged her own visual language without ever feeling the need to conform to existing codes. Since the 1990s, Fafi has developed a distinctive body of work centred around her iconic Fafinettes. Through these bold, free-spirited and self-assured characters, she explores themes of identity, femininity, desire and empowerment, while blurring the boundaries between graffiti, illustration, painting and popular culture. What stands out is the strength and consistency of her artistic vision. For more than twenty-five years, Fafi has built a body of work that is instantly recognisable, inspiring a new generation of female artists and helping to reshape perceptions of women’s place within graffiti and urban art. With « Sugar, Spice & Boys Tears », Galerie Chenus Longhi brings together a new body of paintings, drawings and watercolours that highlights the maturity of her practice and the narrative depth of her universe. Coup de cœur expo : @beyondthestreetsart à la Villette ! Un lieu tres spacieux, sur plusieurs niveaux, pour (re)découvrir les artistes qui ont marqué la naissance, l’émergence du graffiti dans le monde, l’art urbain et les sous culture qui en découlent. Des œuvres historiques mais aussi pleins de nouvelles faites pour l’expo ! Les décors sont vraiment très cools et ça plaira aussi bien aux enfants (même une partie avec pleins de coloriages, bien sûr que j’y suis allée !) J’y ai passé presque deux heures, dimanche matin, sans foule, c’était hyper tranquille ! Première photo : Le corner de @therealfafi , quelle joie de retrouver les fafinettes, qui nous replongent dans notre adolescence à Toulouse à essayer de les chercher dans les petites rues🥰 La boutique est très canon, avec une belle sélection (aie le porte feuille!) faite par Sarah Andelman (Co fondatrice de Colette!) #expoparis #streetart #beyondthestreets #lavillette

ワールドカップが終わった。 ゲーム以外のことで色々と物議を醸したのは残念だった。 自分には、大事な試合を観る時に着るTシャツがある。20年着てプリントも剥げているけれど、捨てられない大切な一枚。 2006年のドイツ大会の時、Coletteで始まったFAFIの個展を観るためにパリにいて、準決勝をみんなでColetteの地下で観た。フランスが勝って決勝進出を決め、街は大騒ぎだった。そのときMehdiとFafiからもらったのがこのTシャツ。あの日パリで過ごした時間すべてが、サッカーが”The Beautiful Game”と呼ばれる理由を教えてくれた気がする。だから汚すようなことはしないでほしい。 The World Cup has ended. It’s a shame so much controversy came up off the pitch. I have a T-shirt I wear whenever I watch an important match. I’ve had it for 20 years and the print has faded, but it’s too precious to ever throw away. During the 2006 World Cup in Germany, I was in Paris for FAFI’s solo exhibition, which opened at Colette, and we all watched the semifinal together in Colette’s basement. France won and secured their spot in the final, and the whole city went wild. That’s when Mehdi and Fafi gave me this T-shirt. Everything about that day in Paris made me feel like I understood why football is called “The Beautiful Game.” So please, don’t tarnish it. Mehdi, Eriko et moi soutenions la France aussi, alors quelle déception amère de perdre !
