Repost @freshstartwomen -

Announcing our Community Partner of the Year: Leidan Mitchell!
Each year at Fresh Start’s Sip & Soirée, hosted by the @freshstartauxboard, a volunteer and a community partner are recognized for their exemplary support of Fresh Start’s mission to empower women to succeed.
@leidanmitchell co-founders Jacki Tatman and Erin Essert have been long-time champions of our mission, lending their extraordinary talent, heart, and commitment to empowering women since Fresh Start’s beginnings. Carrying that tradition of uplifting women into their own salon, they, alongside Heather Gray, Nicole Evans, Jessica Gallegos, and the entire Leidan Mitchell team, have donated countless hours of styling support for Fresh Start women. The team has also provided fashion show styling support at our annual Gala. Leidan Mitchell has truly empowered women to rebuild self-esteem and confidence when it matters most!
Congratulations, and thank you, Leidan Mitchell! We look forward to celebrating you at Fresh Start’s Sip & Soirée on Saturday, September 12th at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess.
Learn more about the awards and past honorees on our website.
And that’s not all of the awards! Stay tuned for our Volunteer of the Year Award announcement coming soon!

Founded in 2001 🪏✂️ 06/19/2001 🎈

What better way to celebrate TWENTY FIVE YEARS than taking it back to the very era @leidanmitchell began in 📹

We would not be here today without our committed beauticians, receptionists, ownership group, or guests.

Cheers to another amazing 25 years together 🥂

For nearly 30 years, @leidanmitchell has helped bring the magic of the Fresh Start Annual Gala to life. Since 1996, their creativity & unwavering support have helped elevate this signature event into an inspiring celebration of impact, philanthropy, & empowerment.

Through their artistry, and in collaboration with other valued partners, Leidan Mitchell has helped transform the Gala runway into a stunning showcase of fashion, beauty, & confidence, creating an extraordinary evening that fuels life-changing programs for women & families across the Valley.

This year, as Fresh Start celebrated the 30th anniversary of Gala, the event reached a new record for funding raised: $3.5M, made possible in part through the enduring partnership of supporters like Leidan Mitchell.
From the Fresh Start’s creation in 1992, Leidan Mitchell co-founders Jacki Tatman & Erin Essert have been visionary champions of our mission, lending their extraordinary talent, heart, & steadfast commitment to support women on their journeys to self-sufficiency.

Alongside Artistic Directors Heather Gray & Julia Hernandez, whose creativity, leadership, & artistry have helped shape our beloved runway show for many years, their teams—together with the Leidan Mitchell ownership group—have provided the technical expertise behind each designer showcase.

Working with other creative collaborators, they have helped feature iconic collections, including Carolina Herrera most recently & other renowned designers in years past, strengthening Fresh Start’s most impactful fundraiser year after year.

Beyond the glamour of the runway, Leidan Mitchell’s generosity continues to shine. Their team has provided countless hours of pro bono styling support not only for runway models, but also for courageous Fresh Start women sharing their stories on stage & throughout key milestones in their life. Leidan Mitchell has truly helped rebuild self-esteem & confidence when it matters most!

“To Jacki and Erin, as well as Heather, Julia, & the entire Leidan Mitchell team, thank you for standing beside Fresh Start for nearly three decades,” said Kim McWaters, President & CEO of Fresh Start, “We are so grateful for your support!”

Our door is open, our home is yours ♥️♥️

The Leidan Mitchell passion for beauty and compassion for people began in 2001 at our first location in Arcadia. Our founding owners Jacki Tatman and Erin Essert had a vision of creating a salon environment where stylists could create and build their own business with the support of a full service salon. The dream had come true: Independent salon professionals flourishing into two Valley locations! Our largest salon and spa is located in Chandler and was introduced to the East Valley in 2008.

With the growth and future of the salons in mind, Leidan Mitchell expanded the ownership team 2 years ago. Nicole Evans, Jessica Gallegos and Kelly Reid embraced the vision and passion of Jacki and Erin. We are committed to creating and building opportunities for future artists /salon professionals.
