Tomorrow night at Budapest. No Home & S*an D. Henry Smith at Budapest, Amsterdam Two fantastic young artists with intersecting practices, both using guitar and voice. Described as a ‘punk producer’ and ‘DIY experimental artist’ by the Wire Magazine, their first album “Fucking Hell”, a mix of noise rock and pop, was released in June 2020 and was named one of the “The 35 Best Rock Albums of 2020” by Pitchfork. They have collaborated with artists such as SASAMI and Maria BC and played with artists such as Moor Mother and Still House Plants. Their work has been written about in Crack Magazine, NPR and The Wire amongst others. Some more bio: S*an D. Henry-Smith is an artist and poet. They are the author of Wild Peach, Body Text, Flotsam Suite: A Strange & Precarious Life, or How We Chronicled the Little Disasters & I Won’t Leave the Dance Floor Til It’s Out of My System, and most recently PACES THE CAGE. Double concert at Budapest (Amsterdam) on Friday 21 August The Names / Orquesta del Tiempo Perdido The Names is a project by Amsterdam and Berlin-based composer and bassist Koen Nutters, it combines the playing of musical material with reflections on public space, society and the world of ideas as a whole. Seamus Cater - harmonica Marielle Groven - violin Koen Nutters - acoustic bass guitar and voice Gert-Jan Prins - percussion Orquesta del Tiempo Perdido is a somewhat high-sounding, slightly nostalgic, somewhat provocative name, behind which lies the visionary mind of Jeroen Kimman, one of the most original musicians on the Dutch scene. Kimman makes a rare appearance with solo guitar and voice! Donation concert. €8 suggested Doors open at 20:00, music starts around 20:30. Cash preferable for donations and drinks - NO PIN - some Tikkie. Location: ‘Budapest’, Pesthuislaan, Amsterdam Oud West. Budapest is the living room space of the WG Terrein.
