Last week was a big organizing week for Save Lloyd and resulted in a huge turnout at the Design Commission hearing that kept the hearing going over an hour past its scheduled end time. One big takeaway, other than that the public testimony overwhelming supports finding ways to retain Lloyd Center, and most especially the ice rink, is that the record remains “open” meaning they will still accept write-in feedback ✍️ from the public through February 12th. So don’t let the recent PR wave convince you that the fight is over - the plans are as of yet not approved by the Design Commission and your written testimony can be part of the public record and part of the stand we’re taking collectively. Please, if you haven’t yet, submit write-in testimony to benjamin.nielsen@portlandoregon.gov
by this Thursday (2/12).

Your feedback can include support of Lloyd Center as a community fixture, or however you see it. We also have some excellent resources to offer, courtesy of historic preservationist and Save Lloyd advocate, Matt Kelly, to help guide you in addressing specific city criteria (link in bio).

For inspiration you can watch the public hearing testimony, it’s archived by the city, but we put it in a folder for you to more easily access (link in bio). #savelloyd #savelloydcentermall

hi Portland friends,

this is me excited:
soon-to-be new friend @n04h_ross and i will be performing various works and readings at old-friend David Abel's gem of a literary goldmine, @passages_bookshop (1801 NW Upshur, Suite 660) on 01.09.25, @ 19:30. Many³ thanks to Abel for putting us on.

I'll be prompting a second Portland run of "Score For Islands" - an experimental social score, in which willing participants (you?) read, out loud, anything of their choosing and in any manner they choose. It's a funky time, guaranteed.

Hope to see and hear you there,
B
