For the longest time, I thought healing meant finding my way back to the girl I used to be.

The one who existed before life got difficult, before I started questioning myself, before I lost little pieces of who I was along the way. I think a part of me was always trying to get her back.

But lately, I’ve been wondering… what if I’m not meant to go back? What if the girl I was needed to live through everything she did so I could become the woman I’m still getting to know?

I don’t want to spend my life trying to return to an old version of myself. I want to give the girl I used to be the life she once hoped for, even if it looks nothing like what she imagined.

Maybe that’s what growing really is. Not finding your way back, but finally feeling at home in the person you’re becoming 🥹❤️

@tsitsikamma_ultra you absolute gem. Thank you for a tough Saturday out. A day my soul needed. A day I think a lot of people need and should experience but one that I am privileged to have lived.
To everyone involved in giving us a proper time in the mountains I appreciate you all so much!

Thanks for the lovely snaps 📸1 @carmenclairevdw 2 @glennmurray150
