🌵 drop waist in the desert 🌵 • surprise! another @thrillsandstitches #olympiadress , made in 100% mulberry silk from @etsy to celebrate @thebirkenstockqueen & @andrewtinsman in Joshua Tree! • This is my 4th or 5th Olympia dress and my first in silk, which was a serious challenge. Soooooo slippery and sensitive. I even attempted a rolled hem, which I now don’t believe anyone has ever done successfully or easily. 😅 I originally thought this fabric was turquoise/pink instead of green/orange but it ended up really cute! Not pictured — my bag, made with the inverse side of the fabric to be green with orange polka dots. I don’t ever want to work with silk again! I’m also wearing vintage earrings picked up from the @ooakchicago , molded to look like funny little faces. Thank you Mood! I spent the evening at @moodfabricsshowroom with my fellow Chicago sewing ICON @whatabbeywore ! I wore my @thrillsandstitches Olympia dress made from Mood NYC fabric and met so many other cool creative people. “A bird may love a fish, signore, but where would they live?” • One more post to the grid of my Ever After / Danielle de Barbarac cosplay for the 2026 @bristolrenaissance faire. I used plenty of gorgeous fabric from @textilediscount as well as some thrifted placemats, ribbon from @soutachellc , earrings from @hazelchicago and of course a beautiful snood from EclecticClaire on @etsy . Very proud of this costume considering my skills and the time I had available and can already think of how to improve it for next time (maybe a Utopia clutch???). This project probably cost me all in all about $200 and surprisingly I’m most proud of the back! 😅 Thanks so much to everyone who followed along, see you next year!

Here she is! Finally revealing the final version of my Ever After cosplay. I took this outfit to the @bristolrenaissance faire this past weekend, had an amazing time despite the heat and humidity, and met SO many nice people who had very lovely things to say about my work. Thank you to everyone who followed along and while this project is by no means perfect, I feel very proud.
