Hans’s observations on @burningman and @therealtwofourhell
At both events there are people who enjoy the experience sober and without drugs.
At both events there is a unique community of people you will not experience them as you would outside the event itself.
Both events provide a safe or encouraging atmosphere for you to be uninhibited about your outfit, the way you dress, and to an extent, how you act.
Both events draw on your mind, body, and spirit to be “tested” in ways you otherwise would not outside the events.
Both events encourage you to take the joy, love, and stoke from the event to places and people outside the event itself.
Both have participants from around the world.
Both events do not give a full picture of me nor those that attend.
People attend both events for a variety of reasons.
Both events have sold out numerous years in the past decades.
Volunteers are key to the success of both events, albeit the BM event has a huge paid staff.

Differences:

There is much more Electronic Dance Music at Burning Man,
BM, than at The 24 hr Horseshoe Hell, 24HH.
The BM event is 7+ days. The 24HH event is 3+ days.
The BM event is big, 80,000 people big. The 24HH event is less than 1,000 people.
BM is in Nevada desert. 24HH is at a dude ranch canyon in Arkansas.
BM climaxes on Labor Day weekend. 24HH is third week of September.
Excluding travel, BM is about 4 to 50 times more expensive than 24HH to attend.
I’ve been to BM once and 24HH seven times.
I think that the Yosemite Facelift, RIAD event in The Red River Gorge and the Rocktoberfest in The Red are worthy of a visit.
Tell me in the comments what events you’d recommend attending. Or give me some stories from these events.

Thank you Wonder Campers and Mark for making my BM experience incredible.so much #gratitude

The face of a guy who just PASSED his SPI Provider Course w/ the @amga1979

Once I get some paperwork taken care of I can start providing (teaching) "Single Pitch Instructor" Courses or SPIs in 2027.

If you ever wanted to start guiding or instructing in the rock discipline this is where you start and it's also the fastest way to become "certified".

Look for some dates coming for SPI Courses that I'll be teaching in 2027. Washington, California and hopefully Arkansas.

If any Hellions are interested in taking an SPI course before or after Hell in 2027. DM ME.

P.S. One step closer to my dream of becoming a member of the IT team. #babysteps

Been to Hell and back, and survived to tell about it! @therealtwofourhell, that is! We spend 361 days in orbit of this special weekend and this was another spectacular year! The team that brings you Horseshoe Hell pours their heart and soul into it. Mega kudos to the volunteers, medics, sponsors, ranch staff, vendors and the CLIMBERS who keep on CRUSHING. My personal thanks to everyone who brings the EXTRA 🔥. Plus my sister joined us this year…yay! And to @jer.collins who thinks and overthinks this event to make it better every year for this community. You have a huge heart for AR climbing 🥇. Mega +1 was @highstepsociety for the dance party!! So much fun!! See you next year, frens!
