This photo speaks volumes.

When I look at this picture, I see more than a smile. I see **JOY.**

Not because everything in life is perfect. Not because every challenge has been overcome or every burden has been lifted. But because I am learning that joy doesn’t require everything to be right.

I’m learning to embrace the moment, to be present, to laugh freely, and to find beauty in the midst of life’s uncertainties.

**This smile represents growth, healing, gratitude, and the freedom to simply BE.**

Sometimes JOY is not about what’s happening around you, but what’s happening within you.

Thank you, @restorativehouston and @therealustarr for creating space for moments like this. Moments of connection, authenticity, laughter, and restoration.

**I’m learning that I don’t have to wait until everything is perfect to experience JOY. I can choose joy right where I am.**

Transportation is a bridge to possibility. It's the difference between hearing about an opportunity and actually being able to experience it.

For young people in marginalized communities, the barrier isn't a lack of ambition, talent, or potential. It's the lack of access. Access to resources, exposure, and opportunities beyond the boundaries of their neighborhoods.

Today, we're proud to announce that we have officially secured our CoolxKids passenger van!

This is mobility.
This is equity.
This is removing one more barrier standing between our young people and the world they deserve to experience.

To our community, THANK YOU!! To every person who believed, contributed, advocated, and showed up to make this possible this is what collective investment looks like.

We're not waiting for opportunities to reach our kids. We're building the infrastructure to take our kids to the opportunities and trust me, this is only the beginning.

What should we call the van? Drop some “Cool” names below 👇🏾

As always, our mother/caregiver circle was absolutely beautiful this weekend. We want to give a huge thanks to our board member @therealustarr for leading the circle and to @coolxdad for offering their space for us to host it there.

It never ceases to amaze us how refueled we all feel after this circle. For this one we focused on “Reimagining Motherhood/Caregiving”. We were asked what was missing from those roles. We reflected & shared from our hearts, laughed, were strengthened & validated…and that is truly healing.

Thank you to all the wonderful souls who made it to our circle ♥️. And as ALWAYS thank you to @amberbound2rise for the gorgeous pictures!!

Unique is a client, a mentor and a friend of mine who has poured a lot into me. She’s followed me and my journey for a little over a year now, and has become an admirable figure and an inspiration to me. So I wanted to take a second to show her some love, to remind her that we see her, and that I feel blessed to know her. You’ve done and are so much more than what you’ve been through. Still, 8 years of survival IS a big deal. You’ve carried it well and I’m incredibly grateful to witness your journey 💗

October is all about Boos & Boobs!! Breast cancer awareness month is a time to acknowledge people who struggle with breast cancer as well as educate ourselves about breast cancer prevention.

I have shared different organizations that offer free or low cost breast exams and research based knowledge on ways to lower your risk of getting breast cancer ⚕️I’ve attached some links in my bio!

It starts with exposure. Then comes the possibility.

The CoolxKids Swim Pathway was born from an idea: what happens when we put swimming in front of young people who may have never had the opportunity to experience it?

For our youth in Sunnyside, Houston, swimming is more than learning how to stay afloat. It’s water safety. It’s confidence. It’s discipline. It’s wellness. It’s competition. It’s opening a door to possibilities they may have never considered.

We’re building the pathway step by step. From the first time in the pool, to learning the fundamentals, to discovering what’s possible beyond the water.

Because sometimes the biggest barrier isn’t ability.
It’s access. It’s exposure. It’s opportunity.

CoolxKids is creating all three.

🚐 Okay, but where ISN’T the Plan C Community Road Trip going?

Up next, the route takes us from ONE BODY: Dispatches from Idaho at Smith College to Ain’t Our First Rodeo with NEAR, over to an Intergenerational Convening with Hoochies of Houston, and into Sip & Sketch with Now What?! and the Autonomous Body Shop Project. Four very different events, all bringing people together in their own way and on their own terms.

Swipe through the event posters, find your people, and follow the collaborating orgs directly for all the details on how to join them. And don’t put the map away yet! The PCCRT is rolling through November 15, and new stops keep popping up! Follow the route on the Plan C website or join us on Discord to keep up with what’s next. 👀🚐 #PlanCCommunityRoadTrip

✨ Meet our speakers! ✨
We are honored to welcome a powerful group of community voices to the 2nd Annual Intergenerational Convening on Sexual Health and Pleasure.
Swipe through to get to know the brilliant people guiding our conversations—from their work and lived experiences to the hobbies and joys that make them who they are.

Because yes, we are coming together to talk about sexual health, pleasure, motherhood, and the history of SMA in Black communities—but we are also coming together as whole people.
And AUNTIES, this is your invitation! 💛
Bring your wisdom, your questions, your stories, your nieces, and your open heart. We believe aunties, nieces, mothers, daughters, and chosen family have more in common than we may think. When we create space to listen across generations, we can honor what has been passed down, challenge what no longer serves us, and build healthier conversations for everyone.
Join us for:
• An auntie-and-niece fireside chat
• A conversation on the history of SMA in Black communities
• Motherhood circles
• Connection, reflection, and community care
📍 Deluxe Theater, 3303 Lyons Avenue
📅 Saturday, September 19, 2026
🕙 10:00 AM–2:00 PM
Bring items for the altar, bring your people, and bring your voice. We cannot wait to be in community with you. ✨
