A long build in celebration of the king of Melodic techno Mohasseb!
Join him as he celebrates his birthday with a special night of the sound that made us obsessed with his set, melodic techno, intense emotions, progressive grooves, moody late-night tunes and the gradual builds that have kept him at the heart of CJC’s electronic nights for years!
Come celebrate another year of Mohasseb, behind the decks and in his element on October 22

Atmospheric Contemporary Egyptian Folk and Fusion night! Ali Refai brings a guitar- and bass-led sound shaped by rhythm, improvisation and left field, alternative composition with experimental instrumental music and jazz-inflected sounds. Alongside him, Youssra El Hawary returns with her darker world of Taraddud, her 2025 EP and first release as a producer.
Here, Cairo becomes part of the instrumentation: street vendors, sirens, bicycle wheels and the noise of the city sit alongside jazz, folk, ambient textures and Egyptian rhythms. The result is intimate, restless and distinctly urban. Join us on October 22

PLAYED 7HRS FOR THE O2C ANNIVERSARY

Open2Close was built around a simple idea: one DJ controls the night from start to finish. No stacked lineup, just one long set that gets to build, shift and evolve throughout the night.

A year later and seeing how many of you keep showing up for it means a lot 🤍

Thank you to everyone who’s been part of O2C this past year and everyone who came to celebrate this one with me.

Love,
ZM

#GouNews: FUNKSIDE TO HOST SEASON OPENING CLUB NIGHT AT THE REC ROOM SEPTEMBER 25TH.

After a short summer pause, Egypt-based party series Funkside is returning to the capital for its first party back in Cairo, teaming up with GK Hospitality’s The Rec Room on September 25th.

The night brings together a five-DJ line-up featuring Youla, Youssef Yasser, Youssef Roshdy, F-Spins and Zeft Funk, bringing together different corners of Cairo’s house and club music scene under one roof.

Known for its focus on feel-good house music, community and carefully curated lineups, Funkside has been steadily building its presence across Egypt through a run of intimate parties and larger gatherings. Its latest Cairo outing marks a return to the city after the party series’ summer break.

The September 25th line-up brings together a mix of familiar names and newer selectors, with Youla, Youssef Yasser, Youssef Roshdy, Zeft Funk and Funkside founder F-Spins taking over The Rec Room for the night.

The collaboration with The Rec Room also marks a new setting for Funkside, adding another venue to the series’ growing list of spaces across Cairo and beyond.

Tickets are available through Funkside’s Instagram bio.
