In the red corner. • The playoff party will have to wait at least one more game after the Chicago Fire couldn’t replicate Saturdays 10-man magic last night against the Philadelphia Union. The Fire went up a goal and then immediately down a man right before the half. The second half was almost all Union action, and the Fire just couldn’t cross the picket line. Chicago has to wait a little longer for official playoff qualification while Philadelphias playoff pursuit is still alive and well. • Shot pitchside for @darbymag

The break’s almost over, and next for New York City FC: a trip to face the Chicago Fire, who got a key defender (Mbekezeli Mbokazi) back healthy and who have smoothly adjusted to life with Robert Lewandowski. For more on #CF97, @matt.mangam caught up with @joechatzsports. Full scouting report on New York Soccer Journal. #NYCFC #MLS
