What about this view? 🌴 🌊 📍Cambodia.

What about adding some more - kayaking, snorkeling, ancient temples, local communities, permaculture, eco-building and time spent learning alongside people who are actually working on the ground? 🛶🌱

@theredroadfoundation offers a different kind of way to experience the country - from wellness retreats and cultural adventures to volunteering, sustainable development projects and immersive experiences in rural Cambodia. 🌿

They also run a free eco-school, an organic permaculture farm and hands-on programs around sustainability, education and community development. 💚

And for families and young people, they now offer worldschooling and a Teen Leadership & Sustainable Development Immersion in Kampot, combining real-world learning with leadership, service learning and sustainability. 🌏

Definitely a place to keep in mind if you’re looking for meaningful travel in Cambodia - not just another holiday. 🥰

Looking back at these memories from my week volunteering at The Red Road Foundation in Kampot, Cambodia, really makes me nostalgic.

The Red Road Foundation is a free education project where local children come to learn English, alongside an organic farm and sustainable development projects.

I spent a week living on-site, getting a real experience of Cambodian village life.

What I loved most was the time with the kids. Learning English, playing, laughing and connecting through different projects.

Seeing how happy they were with the simplest things made me realize again how blessed we are and how much we sometimes take for granted. We can have so much and still find things to complain about, while these kids could create so much fun from the simplest things.

The school itself is also very unique, built partly with recycled materials, including glass bottles, with a focus on sustainability and reducing plastic, which also aligns with my values.

I was the only volunteer that week, and the biggest challenge for me was having no internet connection at all, especially because I work online. 😅 So I ended up having a complete digital detox and got back to reading during most of my free time.

It was a challenging week, but a beautiful one, and I took a lot of lessons from the experience.

I paid $150 for the week, all-inclusive, including my stay and meals while contributing to the project.

They still need volunteers to help continue what they’re doing. So if you’re travelling through Cambodia and want to give some of your time while experiencing local culture and village life, it’s definitely worth looking into.

Looking back, I’m really grateful I did my part there. ❤️ @theredroadfoundation

🌿 Opening 2026–2027 Retreat Collaborations

Over the past decade in Cambodia, I’ve built an immersive 14-day wellness journey that blends yoga, nervous system reset, cultural immersion, and meaningful community impact through The Red Road Foundation.

As we expand into 2026–2027, I’m opening a limited number of strategic collaborations with aligned:

• Yoga studio owners
• Retreat leaders
• Facilitators & healers
• Wellness community builders

This is not a mass promotion.
It’s a curated invitation.

Our retreats are intimate (12 guests max), all-inclusive, and designed for depth — supporting free education initiatives while guiding participants through perspective-shifting experiences in Cambodia.

Partnership options include:

• Straight referral collaboration
• Co-hosted retreats
• Custom group experiences
• Fully bespoke journeys

If you feel aligned — or know someone who might be — I’d love to explore what this transformative journey could look like for your community.

Message me directly or email:

I’d like to invite you to step into an alternate world that has the potential to reshape your perspective of yourself and life.

Not to escape your life —
but to upgrade it. To go back with an elevated understanding of who you are, and patient presence filled with the gratitude of being alive..

This is an invitation to step outside your normal mindset and into something that expands you.

Cambodia has a way of shifting perspective.
Recalibrating your nervous system.
Opening your mind.
Feeling deeply what truly matters.

On this retreat, you won’t just relax — you’ll reorient. You’ll see the world with fresh eyes like a toddler wandering through a garden sanctuary for the first time.

You’ll meet inspiring locals and community members whose resilience and joy are contagious.
You’ll experience the confidence that comes from contributing to meaningful education initiatives through The Red Road Foundation.
You’ll reconnect to yourself through yoga, guided reflection, nature immersion, and conversations that transcend where you’re from and what you do.

You’ll also be supported by experienced international healers and facilitators who help you regulate your nervous system, expand your thinking, and return home clearer, stronger, and more aligned.

This isn’t surface-level wellness. This is an a trending yoga retreat, where everyone compares themselves to each other… This is actually putting yourself out of your comfort zone in a safe way, and diving deep into what the world is offering and what you can offer the world.

It’s perspective shifting.
It’s grounding.
It’s energizing.
It’s real.

🌿 Upcoming 14 Day , 4 Location Retreats:
March
April
November

And if you’re not a “group retreat” person — I also design bespoke journeys for friends, families, or individuals seeking realignment, reset, and deeper connection.

If you’ve been feeling the pull for something more meaningful —
this is your sign.

Message me to explore if this is right for you. 🌺🌙🌀

How to make a sustainable impact traveling? 💡
Travel can be more than sightseeing…
It can be connection. 🤝
It can be regeneration. 🌱
It can be a way to give back while experiencing a place in its truest form... 💚

When you choose small local businesses 🛍️ - you help families, not corporations.
When you bring reusables ♻️ - you reduce waste where systems are fragile.
When you exchange energy instead of giving handouts 🔄 - you create dignity, not dependency.

These small choices matter ✨
They add up ➕
They stay in a community long after you.

Sustainable travel isn’t about perfection ❌
It’s about intention
It’s about leaving a place better than you found it
…and letting it leave you better too 🌏💫
#staytuned… ⏳📖

Our upcoming blog will dive deeper into simple ways to make your travels meaningful.
The Red Road Foundation @theredroadfoundation has an idea for you-and we can’t wait to share it! 💌

Your Guide: Rachel Riggio

Founder/Director The Red Road Foundation

Wellness Coach, Mental Health Counselor,

Leadership Teacher, Clothing Designer, Entrepreneur

I live in Cambodia & am even more in-love with it now than I was when I first arrived eleven unforgettable years ago. Since then, I have learned to speak Khmer, explored this robust country, have gotten to know its beautiful people & the wonderful (truly full of wonder) local culture. The acceptance, resilience, humility, laughter & gratitude of the Khmer has changed my life. It is my great joy to share it with you!

I founded & run The Red Road Foundation, a free education & sustainable development project in the countryside in collaboration with the local community. Together, we work towards creating a sustainable model for solutions including opportunities for impoverished families, environmental destruction, assessable education, circular economy, & sustainable system implementation.

I facilitate internships & wellness retreat programs in Cambodia that directly fund the free education initiatives of the Red Road Foundation. It is my absolute privilege & pleasure to introduce people to the many things Khmer culture has taught me about living a fulfilled, accepting, & joyful life.

Mouy Tiet -
A hub for the Red Road Foundation, that supports the interns and volunteers, and offers a selection of the sustainable products.
Every item sold here contributes 100% of the proceeds directly to the free education and sustainable development project in the countryside of Kampot.

Founded in 2014, the Red Road Foundation serves the local community by providing free learning opportunities to around 60 children and by giving volunteers from around the world a meaningful and impactful travel experience.

At our school, we also maintain a permaculture farm where we grow organic moringa. These products promote health, beauty, and wellness through pure, sustainably grown ingredients that help support Cambodia’s children.
