tilde (~) No.03 - a one night process-show

24th of October 2026. 17 - 23 pm
(free of charge)

at Platform Stockholm, Lövholmsbrinken 12

As a second instance of evening events, following up on the Real Soon Saloon in late august, we invited the artists Therese Norgren and Ingrid Segring to bring tilde (~) to Platform, hosting a process-show on Saturday October the 24th, including works by Sofia Andersson, Rebecka Tollens, Matilda Söderberg, Behin Roozbeh, Hannah Nittnaus, Nora Pollak, Alden Jansson, Ingrid Segring and Therese Norgren.

Drinks will be served and music shall be played.

.......................................................

tilde (~) is an artist-driven exhibition series inspired by a sense of constantly being almost there, in a state of approach, striving without resolution, intensity without culmination; artistically, geographically, sexually, temporally, physically, spiritually, socially, economically, etc. With the urge to show another part of the artist’s practice than the finished, polished, perfect end product.

Programme

17:00 Doors open

19:30 Performance by Nora Pollak

Drinks and music from 20:00.

August 13th I said goodbye to my baby Yuki and left for Japan. For almost 2 months now I’ve been demanding daily pics and videos of her. I also got a picture of her as a bookmark and a mini keychain Yuki that I hold in my hand every night, so in a way she is always close. I miss her so much!!! In 12 days I will finally see her again, get to hold her and kiss her and never ever leave her this long again 💖🌸💞💕💝🌷

Thank you @fsaffari @gunnarssonjeanette @nataliringqvist for putting up with my endless requests for pics/videos and @shadow.patch.hedwig for always taking care of your baby sister<3333

Checking in after a much-needed social media break to share some images and words from a very special day with tilde (~) and their first workshop. We took as a starting point a beautiful and evocative essay by Ursula K. Le Guin "The Carrier Bag Theory of Fiction”. (If you have not read I highly recommend! You can find PDFs online). After this reading we spent the day in Öland’s lime quarry Gillberga, nestled just off the stony pebbled coast. This man-made dusty bowl is in part industrial excavation, ancient stone carved by machines and in part, a place where nature is reclaiming its space. Crystal-clear blue water has fallen and allowed life to return, tall seagrass blows in the wind and various birds have nested in the cliffs and are raising their young. Amongst the broken rocks are many fossils, ancient crawling animals crystallised and gleaming through cracked stones. It’s here we spent the day, collecting, sharing, making and responding. There was a lot of poignant stillness pierced only by conversations, steps, the shrill sounds of terns (similar in personality to seagulls but smaller and slightly more elegant).

Spending the day in such a space was inspiring, grounding while also being expansive. I thought a lot about the creative process, how hands shape and hold and make. How we can be in a landscape, respond and resonate with it, intervene and extract without having to break or destroy what’s already there. How important it is to continue to keep creating moments and events push back against the reigning patriarchal capitalist ideology, one that removes us from ourselves and each other, that teaches us that our only value is in consumption or capitalist production, not in seeing or being or living and sharing.

It’s the last week to see ’Beyond the Measured Room’ with Therese Norgren & Jakub Michalak. Open until Friday, the 15th, at the gallery.

Beyond the Measured Room brings together the work of Therese Norgren and Jakub Michalak, artists who investigate the conditions in which space, objects, and perception exceed human control. Norgren works with architectural components that have been enlarged, cut, and fragmented, allowing them to escape their original function. Corners become autonomous forms; metric sticks and deliberately imprecise gömböc objects expose the limitations of measurement, revealing the subtle absurdity and fragility of human attempts to impose order. Michalak’s paintings extend these questions into the field of landscape. Rejecting fixed viewpoints and stable horizons, he presents space as a dynamic field of relations where matter, energy, and perception continuously intersect. Forms emerge and dissolve, traces accumulate, and the human is decentered within a network of non-human forces.

We are currently showing a solo presentation of beautiful works by Joseph Jones at the gallery. Intimately scaled and meticulously detailed, Joseph Jone’s paintings sit between portraiture and still life, acting both as mirrors of self-reflection and windows onto the nature of contemporary representation in the digital age. Jones constructs his subjects – often cats and flowers – from composites drawn from his vast archive of found and shared photographs, interrupting the frantic circulation of images to instead prompt a slower reading. Using a layered technique of priming, painting, and sanding back to expose the linen weave, the artist posits a tension between surface and image, and between illusion and material. Through a colour palette at once subtle and saturated, Jones implies the dream-like quality of representation, and the unreal or surreal quality of photorealism. Working serially with domestic images, Jones’s vernacular explores the relationship between sentimentality and obsession, and how structures of belief and interspecies bonds might reveal our own longing.

Joseph Jones received his MA in Painting from the Royal College of Art, London (2010). Recent solo presentations include Art Collaboration Kyoto, Shophouse and Parcel Tokyo (Kyoto 2025), Joseph Jones, Shophouse (Hong Kong, 2025) Natural Language, Ehrlich Steinberg (Los Angeles, US, 2025), Joseph Jones, Workplace (London, 2025) Post-Fair, Ehrlich Steinberg and 4649 Tokyo (Los Angeles, US, 2025) Joseph Jones, The Artists Room (London, UK, 2024) and Index, Roland Ross (Margate, UK, 2024). Recent selected group exhibitions include The Eagle, South Parade (London, UK), Again & Again, Overduin & Co. (Los Angeles, US, 2025), Postales, Galeria Gato (Lima, PE, 2025), Ordinary Things, Workplace (London, UK, 2025), Display, Ehrlich Steinberg (Los Angeles, US, 2025) and Prelude of Gaze, Shophouse (Hong Kong, HK, 2024).

GALLERY: Therese Norgren at Coulisse Gallery until Friday May 15

The exhibition ”Beyond the Measured Room” is a group show that also features works by Jakub Michalak.

Therese Norgren’s practice investigates the way architectural systems and symbolic structures shape spatial experience. Her work moves between two- and three-dimensionality, using minimalist forms to investigate how surface becomes depth. It is the artist’s first exhibition at the gallery.

The presentation focuses on the ”corner” as a starting point—a concrete yet strangely abstract element that exists only in relation to something else. Norgren’s works, often utilizing MDF, graphite, and industrial materials, are ”shell-less objects” that have been torn from their context to take on lives of their own. Her process involves a ”chamber play” of scale and fragmentation, drawing inspiration from field research in Iceland where she studied movement through landscapes as a form of continuous spatial negotiation.

THERESE NORGREN (*1992), Stockholm, lives and works in Stockholm. She is currently completing her Master of Fine Arts at @kungl.konsthogskolan (2023–2025). Between 2022 and 2024, she studied at the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main @staedelschulemensa under Judith Hopf. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts BFA from the @kungl.konsthogskolan (2020–2023) and previously studied at the Idun Lovén Art School @idunloven (2018–2020). Norgren co-founded the Uncharted collective and has participated in the Busan Biennale in South Korea, with additional exhibitions at Uppsala Konstmuseum, Bonnier Konsthall, and Liljevalchs Vårsalong. @thereseflorian
