I’m looking for 15 women to join the very first Seeking Light Circle. 🤍 Women carrying grief. Women wanting connection. Women looking for a place to show up exactly as they are, without having to explain what they’re feeling. When I first dreamed of Seeking Light Circle, I imagined monthly gatherings. A space to share stories and simply be with people who understand. But that little idea grew into something more. Seven months. The same women. A place to belong. Beginning January 2027, we’ll gather in person, connect through Zoom, take weekly walks, journal, share stories, laugh, cry & experience beautiful things together. We’ll slow down, get our hands in the earth & gather around a beautifully curated table for a shared meal, meaningful conversations, laughter & stories about the people we love. A chance to remember not just how we lost them, but who they were. And there’s so much more being thoughtfully planned. Through it all, we’ll make room for joy while still carrying our grief. No stages to complete. No finish line to reach. Because I don’t believe grief is something we leave behind. I believe we learn to live alongside it. Together. But do you know what my greatest hope is? That somewhere along the way, real friendships begin. ✨ That women who arrive feeling alone find people who understand. 🥹 And that those connections continue long after our seven months together. Because ultimately, that’s what I needed when my own world fell apart. People. Connection. A place to belong. And that’s what I hope to create for other women. Our first Circle begins January 2027. Why horses? While they’re certainly having their year in the spotlight, it runs deeper over here.  For me, it’s a lifelong love story of freedom, a wild spirit, finding a sense of place within oneself and connectivity to nature. The tiny slivers of joy from a little girls heart. Being in the presence of these ancient, sentient souls is the closest to ‘source’ I’ve ever found. They take me out of my head and into my body. They quietly awaken the essence of my spirit that gets dimmed with the complexities of real life. Their energy invites me to return to my highest self, every single time I’m among them.  It’s hard to explain to non-horsey people. If you imagine your favorite place on earth, why it makes you feel that way, and who you are in those moments. The way your soul dog evokes an unbreakable, invisible bond to your heartstrings. The way putting noise cancelling headphones on finds the purity of the rest from the silence. The way an old friend visits you with your self entirely undone with no expectation other than you being you. It’s kind of like that.  To move in sync with a powerful animal 10X your size. Two separate beings connecting in a moving meditation partnership. It feels like you’re floating, flying, yet so very grounded and part of the earth. Horses feel your inner energy before your body ever shifts. Their physically enormous heart, slows down yours, to sync in harmony as one. They absorb your stress energetically and release it. The feeling of their warm breath, their velvet muzzle and deep soft eyes; scanning your body for anxiety, your heart for sadness, and asking nothing from you other than being who you really are in the moment with them. No performance, no acting fine, just being. That is the healing power of horses. You don’t have to ride to feel the effect in their presence. All you have to do is be yourself. That’s it. I’m so deeply honored & humbled by this. If my younger self could see me in this year’s women’s edition of @oursouthbay magazine, especially in the company of such extraordinary women, in my hometown community, she simply would not, could not believe it. But the whole reason I am in this magazine is BECAUSE of my younger self. I am forever grateful for her, to her, & for the blessed broken road that led me here. My life now is beyond my wildest dream & answered prayers, & the way @tanya.monaghan used her incredible, undeniable gifts to share my story of how I turned pain into purpose, challenges into resiliency, intuition into alignment + authenticity, is just beyond.
