POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

If you’re in your 20’s now… or recovering from when you were….

On November 1st, we are launching

🎧BLOOD, SEX AND FEARS: Tales from my 20s. 🎧

An audio treat. [LINK IN BIO.] Wherever you get your podcasts. My autobiographical hijinks, which I graciously lived so that you don’t have to!

We will release a story a week. @mtattenbaum and I have been working on this for a long time with a stellar team of your favorite people. ⬇️👀

🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹

Here’s how we’re describing the podcast:

“Ever done something stupid with pure intentions? You’re in good company here.
In her 20’s, Emma Tattenbaum-Fine just wanted to be a good person.
The result? A collection of classic coming of age stories: lap dancing for the mafia in Times Square; passing out while donating blood and having a near death experience; losing a boyfriend’s declawed, indoor cat in the wilderness.
Things that could happen to any one of us. But somehow all happened to Emma.
Here she delivers true, autobiographical stories. She lived them, so you don’t have to.”

A new podcast:

Written by Emma Tattenbaum-Fine
Directed by Michelle Tattenbaum
Original music by Richard Lowenburg
Audio engineered by Doug Widick at Suite Tea Studio
Graphic Design by Billy Griffin Jr.

We love improvising freely over prompts, without having anything planned beforehand. We don’t talk about the key, tempo, style or chords we are going to use. We simply start playing from our imagination and follow each other in a musical dialogue.

For this one, the prompt we fished out of our magician’s hat said “Be Like Water,” so each of us tried to express this idea through music.

Some moments in music feel like they exist outside of time—for me, this was one of them. All the elements were aligned for me to feel connected and enjoy creating music from my imagination without fear. I’m so grateful to my dear friend Peter Kim and the band for providing the perfect musical canvas, and to Barzakh Café for creating a sacred oasis for art and contemplation.

"Café Dans l'Arène" is an original composition by Engé Helmstetter, performed live by Peter Kim's Star Eyes Quintet ft. Mireia Clua's violin solo.

Peter Kim - voice and guitar
Mireia Clua - 6 string violin
Richard Lowenburg - keyboard
Teresa Sanchez - upright bass
Jeffrey Almonte - drums
