That pretty much summarises Ann Patchett’s ‘Whistler’.

The problem isn’t that her characters aren’t evil or that they ought to be. It is that they are aggressively and perpetually agreeable against logic or convention.

I will work through her back catalogue (since I have a bunch of it already) but this is it for me for any upcoming fiction from her. The niceness is too much for my "darker" self (this darkness comment is explained in the post.)

🐨 WEEKLY READER 🐨

It was a strange week of reading, bookstafam. I read a book that was utterly delightful - The Teller of Small Fortunes, and I forced myself to finish a book on audio that had me wishing I had Tuberculosis myself so it would all be over. (I’ll let you guess what that book was.) I started a fall romance buddyread with @therobertfinlay - Happy Medium, and I plan to try and finish one more book for my #botmember challenge that I created and have failed miserably at, if I’m being honest. Being a mood reader is SO fun!

What are you reading this week? I have no idea what my next audiobook will be but I’m thinking it will most likely be some cinnamon bun/ fluffy goodness. Any thoughts?
