It’s a rave kids. 🚀 “The Rocket Men explores a fascinating and complicated moment in history—the scientists who helped launch America’s space program after World War II, many of whom had previously worked for Nazi Germany. It’s a story about ambition, discovery, and the moral questions that sometimes sit quietly behind great achievements.

One of the most striking choices is that six women portray the scientists whose work eventually helped send Americans to the moon. It’s a bold theatrical device, and it works beautifully. Instead of feeling like a gimmick, it actually deepens the storytelling and invites the audience to engage with the history in a fresh way.

Without giving anything away, the final moments of the play landed with a quiet emotional power that really stayed with me. It’s the kind of ending that makes you reflect not just on the story you’ve watched, but on the complicated history behind it.” - Appearing Locally

On Thursday, the @therocketmenplay will see its fourth opening in six months as each day the world changes.
💥
Opening this week, @angelstheatreco_lincoln @liedcenter in Nebraska on the heels of @phoenixtheatreindy & @synchrotheatre, for our @nationalnewplaynetwork Rolling World premiere; with @octheatre taking on the West Coast premiere.
🙏
I wrote this play to respond to these times.
What does it mean to “be an American”?

In The Rocket Men, women step into the roles of former Nazi scientists who became the backbone of the NASA team that sent America to the moon. The play explores the dynamic relationship of Wernher von Braun and Heinz-Hermann Koelle as these two have set their sights on space exploration and colonization beyond the moon. Still, as the play counts down to the launch of Apollo 11, Koelle is befriended by a Jewish engineer who is hell-bent on exposing the truth: the Germans’ technology is based on the V-2 rockets built by slave labor and is more tied to Koelle’s world than he can imagine. Told with theatrical invention, gripping urgency, and dark humor. The Rocket Men launches a conversation about power, complicity, and the stories we choose to celebrate.

Keep writing in these times. I see you.

An important day in @therocketmenplay history: As the beautiful production @octheatre closes; @angelstheatreco_lincoln is in rehearsals set to open March 12th. ⏰ 🚀

On Friday, I spoke to @jointheplayclub and the play continues to build momentum, and I continue to tweak.

🙏to be able to share this play, especially during these trying times. Grateful it means as much to others as it means to me. Grateful for my collaborators. Grateful for you caring.

Music 🎵underneath from brilliant @gabyalter .

First preview of @therocketmenplay @octheatre. So proud, and on this foggy night out West noting the complexities of this country at present and how that relates to why I wrote the play.

Link to support Minneapolis in bio.

okay but actually the coolest thing I got to do last year was Swing for @therocketmenplay at @synchrotheatre

I swung for two whole roles and it was meatyyyyyy! And I got to go ON for one of my tracks! Which was equally exhilarating and terrifying. (My fellow Swings, iykyk.) But I was truly in the presence of greatness this whole ROLLING WORLD PREMIERE. Cast , crew , hands down the baddest in ATL for such a raw story. Take me back to space!!! 🚀🚀🚀
