** sappy running post incoming **
less than nine months ago, a year and five months after my first knee surgery, I went into an exploratory knee surgery fully accepting that if this didn’t work, I may never run distance again.

that made every single mile of this training block a profound privilege, and it was so special getting to do it in the city I call home, surrounded by friends.

massive thanks to everyone who got me here:
- @hspecialsurgery and @drgomoll: for listening to me and finding a way after three other hospitals (and four other orthopedic surgeons) told me I’d probably never run pain-free again.
- @bespoketreatments and @dr.kylesanchez: for getting me to the starting line - more than 100 hours of physical therapy, listening to my endless complaints, and reassurance that random aches were not my knee disintegrating.
- @nikenyc: for supporting me through this training block with community, coaches, pacers, training plans, fuel, apparel, and everything in between.
- @simon.clark30 for the unwavering support, reminding me to eat carbs, and getting me into cycling
- all my friends and family: for supporting me at my lows, celebrating the highs, and listening to me talk about running... all the time

New York - I love you, I hate you, I am endlessly grateful :’)
