For the first time in a very long time I managed to get a sub 30 min 5k! Absolutely stoked. Didn’t think I’d ever break 30 mins again. Now to keep pushing.

🚨🚨As you’ve all seen by now, the Great South Run has been cancelled for tomorrow due to a weather warning predicting winds of 46mph+ after 10am.

Peacehaven Run Club will be organising a social run (at each individuals own risk) so that everyone can get their miles in with friends. The run isn’t leader led and the route has not been pre-checked. This is open to everyone, so feel free to come join us!

The winds are supposed to start getting severe around 10am so with that in mind, we will be meeting at *Saltdean Lido at 07:30am.*

Each group is doing 5 miles out and back towards Brighton.

‼️ Paces ‼️

Tommy’s Group - 08:00 - 09:30min/mi

Nicole’s Group - 10:30 - 11:30min/mi

Feel free to come join us! A lot of people had worked themselves up to run the event tomorrow so now’s a chance to still get them miles in with friends and like minded runners🤍💚

NEW FOR 2024!

Whilst our race is open to all runners, we have a special competition for our club runners.

Quite simply, a trophy will be waiting for the club with the most number of finishers in the official, confirmed results. Please note, the name of the club MUST be in the results so all athletes must declare their club at the point of entry.

Up for it? Join us via the link in our bio on October 20th for the Hove Prom 10km - where EVERY run counts.

What a start to the Easter weekend…

Half marathon on Good Friday 🐣
I didn’t really have the best prep for this race, training went out the window as my back kept playing up & my kids have literally had me on only a few hours sleep most nights therefore I wasn’t feeling confident about today at all. In fact if my pal hadn’t been coming to join me I’d have bailed.

However after a pep talk from my husband and another from Leigh on the drive up we decided to just run 5:10/km pace & just see how it went.

After a warm up by the Easter bunny 🐰 we started & kept at pretty much 5:00/km pace. The weather wasn’t great with a section of about 600m into the wind which wouldn’t be a problem if we didn’t have to run that section 7 times 🤣 Round & round Victoria Park we went finishing with a very unexpected 1:47:35 finish time.

I said I’d be happy with anything under 1:50:30 which was what I managed at Brighton marathon with a stinking cold, so 4 weeks later having barely been able to train I’m ecstatic to have PB’d by nearly 3 mins 🙌 there’s still much more in the bag, so I hopefully if my back doesn’t give out tomorrow 😆 & my kids start sleeping maybe I can get closer to 1hr 45mins. 🙌🙌 Huge thank you to Leigh for the pep talk and running with me 🙌

SOOOOOOO HAPPYYYYYY 🥳🥳

20 miles done! Honestly felt so good, and my legs are feeling good still! There was a few moments where I just thought why am I doing this to myself but quickly got over that and kept going! 🏃🏼‍♀️ also squeezed in number 46 parkrun

My progress is insane and I just can’t wait to see my results for @brightonmarathonweekend

Four weeks to go!

Brighton Half PB 🥳

2 minutes 17 seconds off of Farnborough Half
10 minutes off of last years Brighton Half 💪🏻

2:32 🥳 think I could have gotten under 2:30 but needed to stop and pee, and that wind from Hove lagoon back was brutal!

6 weeks until I double those miles for the Brighton full 🏃🏼‍♀️
