August + September were FULL. 🤍

Disney World for my mom’s 70th birthday. ✨
It was such a *magical* trip, and the gluten-free food did NOT disappoint.

Lots of live music + summer nights with some of my favorite people.

Boat days. Beach days. And obviously, looking for seashells. 🌊

A quick Raleigh trip that consisted of queso, margaritas, hiking, Marshall’s + coffee. Honestly, perfect. 😂

James Taylor at Live Oak Bank Pavilion with my family. Our first concert all together. 🥹

Tried some REALLY good gluten-free food around Wilmington.

Drank an unreasonable amount of coffee.

Lots of walks with Oakley. 🐾

Prepped + listed a home. Prepped another. Hosted open houses. Showed homes. Met with new clients. And toured what felt like half of Downtown Wilmington.

And it was a big couple of months for Instagram. I started a new course, had almost 150,000 views on my content, and some of YOU found me because of it. 🥹

Somewhere in between all of that, I’ve been learning to slow down a little and actually enjoy the moment.

That’s a wrap on August + September. 🫶🏻

If you’ve been thinking about making Wilmington home, comment WILMY and I’ll send you my Wilmington relocation guide.

“The goal isn’t to get smaller, it’s to get harder to kill.”

Hearing that just confirmed that I am officially in my era of building strength for purpose, not vanity. What a concept…

For so many years, especially as women, we’ve been taught that the goal of exercise is to take up less space. We’ve chased smaller bodies, lower numbers on the scale, and clothes in smaller sizes.

But at 48, my goals have changed.

I want muscle. I want strong bones. I want balance and mobility. I want to be able to get up off the floor, carry my own groceries, travel with my husband, participate in water sports, dominate on the pickleball court, play with future grandbabies, and keep saying YES to adventure for as many years as God gives me.

Muscle isn’t just about how our bodies look. As we age, strength can help protect us from falls and injury and support our ability to keep doing the things we love.

So no, I’m not trying to disappear anymore.

I’m building a body strong enough to carry me into everything I’m still called to do. 💪🏼

Over the last two years, I’ve lost 50 pounds and gained 5 pounds of muscle (according to my most recent body composition analysis) and I am REALLY proud of that.

In a world that is currently obsessed with fast weight loss, don’t forget to protect the muscle that will carry you through the rest of your life. Smaller isn’t the only goal. Strong matters.

If you want the link to the full podcast episode from @thesilver_edge that got me thinking about this, drop a 💪🏻 in the comments and I’ll send it to you! #menopause #strongwomen #family #wifelife #strongnotskinny

Some clients need safety. Some clients need clarity. Some clients need flexibility, structure, or steadiness when life gets loud.

That’s why great coaching isn’t about forcing people into the same system, it’s about adapting how you lead, based on who you serve.

For Part 3 of our Coach Spotlight series, we’re featuring coaches who’ve built their practices around specific people, seasons, and realities. Their niches aren’t limitations, they’re the reason clients feel understood, supported, and confident enough to stay.

✨ Meet the coaches:
• Kevin English (@thesilver_edge) - 50+ Fat Loss Specialist, redefining strength and confidence for aging bodies
• Will Brown (@zen.flow.fitness) - Online Fitness & Nutrition Coach for Busy Professionals, designing flexible systems that fit real lives
• Nya Thornton (@_warrior1training) - Kickboxing Instructor & Performance Coach, helping clients build confidence through challenge and community
• Clement McKnight - Combat Sports & Youth Performance Coach, building discipline through calm and consistency

🎙️ Excerpt from my recent podcast conversation with @thesilver_edge on The Over 50 Health & Wellness Podcast

The truth is, toxins aren’t just “out there.” They’re hiding in plain sight, in our shampoos, lotions, cleaning supplies, and even the packaging around our food.

When your body is constantly bombarded by these microtoxins, it’s like fighting an uphill battle for your health. The good news? Awareness is the first step. Small swaps in your daily environment can make a big difference.

This is just one of the many topics I dive into in my upcoming book, How to Master Migraine: Feed your brain, free your life, the metabolic solution to migraine headaches and the power of ketosis.

✨ Want to be the first to know when it’s released? Join the waitlist today via my link in bio!

I also want to know, do you already check your household products for hidden toxins?

🌱 Eating whole foods is essential, but in today’s world, it’s not always enough.

As I shared on @thesilver_edge , our environment has changed dramatically. In the last 50 years, we’ve been exposed to tens of thousands of new chemicals, toxins, herbicides, and pesticides.

What nourished humans 500 years ago may not be enough for people who’ve lived decades surrounded by these stressors. Healing today often requires more than just “eating clean”, it’s about addressing both the fuel we put in and the damage our modern world leaves behind.

Would love to know, do you feel like diet alone has been enough for your health journey?

The latest episode of The Over 50 Health & Wellness Show just dropped, and WOW! What a story . . .

Endurance athlete & barefoot adventurer Ken Posner went from being the last pick in sports as a kid to running 100+ mile ultras and climbing mountains barefoot in his 60s.

His outlook on a focus with energy, simplicity, and refusing to live in “quiet desperation” is nothing but inspiring. If you’ve ever thought you’re “too old” to go after big goals, this episode proves otherwise.

Be sure to check out Ken’s book Chasing the Grid, coming out on 09/23/2025! 📖

What would your body thank you for six months from now?

We’re halfway through 2025.

And that midpoint? It’s a moment to pause, reset, and realign with the version of yourself you’re becoming.

Because you are a masterpiece in the making.

✨ “Aging isn’t a slow decline—it’s often a slow disconnection. From our body. Our joy. Our truth. Reconnection is the real fountain of youth.”
— Think and Grow Young™

So how do we reconnect—mid-year, mid-life, or mid-anything?

We listen just long enough to ask:

🌿 Is my digestion helping me feel energized—or weighed down?
🧘‍♀️ Is my nervous system calm—or constantly bracing?
✨ Am I aligned with the health I say I want?

You don’t need to overhaul everything.
Just take the first step.

Let this be the start of leaning into who you really are.

If this resonates, and you’re ready for support that meets you where you are, I’d be honored to talk.

He used to think being a man meant doing everything on his own.

The lone wolf. The strong, silent type.

But honestly? That mindset wasn’t serving him.

Real strength is in brotherhood.

It’s in asking for help, being accountable, and surrounding yourself with men who are also growing.

If you’re trying to recover—from porn, addiction, anything—you need other men who can walk with you, challenge you, and remind you what you’re capable of.

This is what real masculinity looks like.

Think it’s too late to change your life?

To get sober, get healthy, get honest and feel proud of the man you’re becoming?

It’s not.

There are men in their 50s, 60s—even 70s—who are choosing to rise.

You’re not too old. You’re not too far gone.

You’re just one decision away from a new chapter.
