There is a lot that comes with being a mom… but I would do it all again for these kids. I am forever grateful that God gave them to me… to love, laugh with, cry with, grow with. They are pretty awesome in every way 🥰 Thankful for the gifts and thoughtfulness but mostly the time we spend together!

✨LOCAL SMALL BIZ GIFT GUIDE ✨ I made this gift guide around Christmas so the photos are a bit outdated, BUT these are still some awesome local businesses to support as your doing your Mother’s Day shopping this weekend -
🌸 @hodgehall_vintage has an awesome curated collection of vintage furniture, decor, clothes and accessories, and even toys! I love picking up trinkets from here (I usually don’t leave without one). I’ve given and received many unique gifts from here!
🌸 @muckaleecreekboutique_ not only are the clothes adorable here, but the owners have always provided opportunities to support local makers and businesses in their shop and during their fun shopping events!
🌸 @thesoapbar.store is a regular stop of ours! I love that I can get some of my household cleaning products from here while also being able to pick up a treat for me, my kids or a unique gift! (This is actually where I purchased a few Mother’s Day gifts this year - there’s some awesome self care products for moms!)
🌸 You can never go wrong with coffee! Two of our local favorites are @cultivatecoffeeroasters and @serenitybrews ☕️ Grab a bag of freshly roasted beans from Cultivate or some yummy house made syrup from Serenity (or both), or buy gift cards for a sweet coffee date!
🌸 Of course, don’t forget to stop by the market tomorrow from 1-5 @cultivatecoffeeroasters for a great selection of artisan made gifts and goods!

There are so many opportunities to shop and support local this Mother’s Day! Please consider spending your dollars in your local community - it means the world to the small business owners who pour so much love into their work when you choose to support them! 💖

✨ Thinking about making a move? Don’t overlook Angier, NC. ✨

This small town is full of charm, community, and local favorites that make everyday life feel special. If you haven’t spent time in Angier, NC, you might be surprised by how many great spots this small town has to offer.

Start your day with coffee from Thanks A Latte, browse local favorites like Sew There!, Betty & Jane Boutique, and The Soap Bar, or treat yourself to a little self-care at The Nail Lounge.

When it’s time to eat or grab a drink, you’ve got plenty of options - from Napper Tandy’s Public House and Nil’s Mediterranean Cuisine to The Sipping Squirrel, Vicious Fishes Brewery, and Gregory Vineyards & Winery.

And of course, no visit to Angier is complete without a stop at Sunni Sky’s Homemade Ice Cream (locals know this is a must 🍦).

You can also enjoy the outdoors at Jack Marley Park, take a stroll through Angier Depot Park, or learn a little local history at the Angier Museum.

It’s places like these that give Angier its charm - and it’s one of the reasons more homebuyers are starting to look here for a little more space, value, and small-town community. 🏡

💬 If you could spend a Saturday in Angier, which spot would you stop at first?

I love decorating for Christmas and try to sprinkle in a little bit of festiveness throughout the house! ✨These are some of my favorite areas full of the treasures we’ve collected over the years 🎄 I’ve been fortunate to be gifted several vintage pieces from family and have thrifted lots of fun things over the years. We tried a new type of pine tree this year and I actually love it even though it’s way bigger in the house than it looked at the farm 😅 I had to be creative with some things like our village which I enjoy putting together but have to keep away from little hands! This hutch has been so fun to style this year and has been the perfect home for a colorful little village complete with a purple triceratops of course! 🩷River has left his mark on the decorations this year like the little pink tree that he decorated with lights for me in our room…I couldn’t bring myself to move it and it’s actually the only decoration in my room! 🤪 It’s the little things! 🩷✨

Your HIGHEST CONVERTING TOOL as a business owner …

Might be your newsletter.

I’m so inspired by Nicole Pond, CEO of The Yellow Bird & The Soap Bar.

For years, I’ve used her “Notes From Nicole” email approach as a relatable and doable example for my clients. Most business owners overthink and then overengineer their newsletters.

Reading her emails feels like sipping a cozy latte ☕

And they’re SO SIMPLE & USEFUL.

Why they work:
Personal Connection Drives Sales: Nicole’s monthly personal emails deliver HIGHER open and click rates than her product newsletters. 🤯
Builds Authentic Trust: Sharing unique snippets—like what you’re cooking, reading, or your hobbies—builds a genuine, loyal community that values more than just your product (same advice goes for service businesses, too)
Authentic messaging connects with your customers’ values and builds trust.
Just because her emails are personal doesn’t mean she’s sharing it all. She’s a private person (as are most of my clients).
Being personable is different from sharing personal details.
It’s a great reminder that simple, authentic storytelling wins every time.

Hear Nicole’s approach to newsletter writing on episode no. 50 of the How Women Write Podcast.

You’ll also hear about her homeschooling adventures as an entrepreneur mom, why her girls are EXCITED about writing stories, plus some lessons on how writing for a product-based business can help you simplify ALL your messaging.
