Yellow Spur round-trip FKT!!! - 29:21

A couple days ago my friend Jack Gugel and I climbed the Eldo classic Yellow Spur bridge-to-bridge in 29:21, taking quite the puff!

What a perfect route with a solid running approach, alternating 5.10-5.7 climbing that allows for a flow state with no notably slow moves, and a nice techy descent. Where the Edge is the fine wine of Eldo, this is the rowdy bud light, where anything goes including a bit of chossiness, runouts, a random easy dihedral to sprint up in the middle, and an 8mm cord.

Recently hitting 100 life time laps, it seemed fitting to give a solid rip. Starting around 11am in 87 degree sun wasn’t ideal conditions, but we were still psyched to see what we could do!

This wouldn’t have been possible without pioneering speedsters before us such as @billwright510 @dannygilbert23 @joe_kennedy3 and @jackneus who have pushed the record on this and are always open to discussing tactics.

Speed climbing records with a good partner are special, as it’s rare to go fast in nature as a team and help push each other further than you thought was possible!

Always learning something new about this sport. Recently in my first Boston marathon. Throughout my career, I’ve ran on amazing teams and been blessed with elite coaches, and I’m excited to pass that on to the next generation of athletes.

I will be joining the @bluecollaret as a coach to show athletes what it takes to raise their running to the next level. Whether it’s competing at the highest level in school, or knocking minutes off the marathon, I’m here to help. Go check out Blue Collar’s page for more info!

Had the best time running the @followyourpassion_it Bergamo 10K with @kiaracherubini and @alberto_seghezzi! I ran primarily with Alberto given all the pictures! We need to do a 10K again sometime! Or a marathon! 🤷🏽‍♂️😅 By the way, these are some of the best creatives I know! 👀👌🏽🔥

I also wore th @thesockmoose socks and would say they are also great for racing in!

It’s been quite the journey!

2019 was the year we moved to Michigan from SoCal and the year I committed to getting healthier! I ran my first marathon and my first 2 ultramarathons.

Then in 2020 - I had my first cervical spine fusion surgery with lots of sets backs for years. I managed to complete a few more ultras and my first 50 miler - but always in so much pain.

Fast forward to this past September I had my 2nd cervical spine fusion surgery and now I have levels c4 through c7 fused. I’m almost 5 months post op and just started running again after over a year and a half! My first race of the year was supposed to be a half marathon in April, but this week I was blessed with something so special ✨

I won a free race entry to @valenciatrailrace in SoCal this March from @cbmrunning ‘s amazing giveaway ❤️

So I’m quickly switching gears and I now have 50 days to train for this beautiful 50K mountain race in SoCal with the amazing support of @rachelhastheruns ✨ and my friends at @frictionprescription

Running and racing has been so hard for me the past few years and I’m looking forward to seeing my progress and making it to that start line strong and healthy!

So everyone that has been following along all these years, I thank you so much. It means more to me than you will ever know 🫶🏼
