Incredibly unexpected news that the infamous @sourcebmx park has been indefinitely closed, due to structural issues with near 150 year old building. Truly feeling for the local riders that called it their home and the awesome staff that relied on the park for their livelihood. Needless to say, the plans for what were to be the 10th annual Battle Of Hastings are canceled (new dates pending repairs). As are our plans for the 30th annual NORA Cup Awards. Speaking bluntly, I have no idea what the new plan for NORA Cup is. I just found out about this within the last hour and am typing this from the deck of the park course at X Games New Orleans. All I can say is that NORA will go forward in some capacity, somewhere and sometime before the end of the year. Thank you to the Source for all they do for BMX and for the support from brands/people with NORA… -Ryan

The Source Shop remains open. The Source Park will reopen in 2027 pending repairs. Swipe to see the full press release along with some classic moments from BOH at @thesourcepark #bmx #ourbmx #noracup #BOH

The Source Park skatepark is now closed until further notice due to health and safety concerns. The required work to address these will not be completed until 2027. The closure only affects the skatepark, business in the Courtyard will be open as usual. We are working with our tenants to ensure minimal disruption.

The Foreshore Trust has allocated £1.5m for this work over the next two to three years in a phased approach. The tender process to find a contractor will start later this summer. The work required includes work to prevent water ingress and work to the concrete structures around the Source Park and Courtyard and the promenade in the immediate area. The first phase of work should be completed in 2027, with further work in the coming years.

Safeguarding this key asset is a priority for the trust, and it is unfortunate that the work needed means the park needs to close for a period of time. We apologise that the closure has come at such short notice, this is due to health and safety concerns at the park that meant it was necessary to close immediately.

The Battle of Hastings BMX event planned for September has been postponed until 2027 – a new date will be announced when the required work has been planned.
