If you’ve been to one of our First Friday Open Mics before… this one is going to feel a little different.

Our fall Open Mic Nights are intentionally smaller, more relaxed, and more intimate.

A space to share something you’ve been working on.
A space to try something new.
A space to actually listen.
A space to meet somebody new.

📍 District One Eleven
🗓️ Every third Friday | 7 PM
🎙️ Link in bio to perform.

Your “why” is what keeps you moving when motivation runs out. It gives the struggle meaning, the sacrifice a purpose, and the hard days a reason to keep going. Because when you know why you started, what you’re building, and who you’re becoming, everything comes together!

Shout out @thesparrowsfortune for helping me rediscover my “Why”

A good visit w/ @thesparrowsfortune as project steward @justc.o.s takes in the exhibition as preparation for his work with Cleveland based writers + poets.

We look forward to what will emerge. This, and the death of artist Betye Saar (four days before her 100th birthday) part of a continuous line of Black women artists responding to our times through their lived experiences and their work.

We honor Betye by opening a text sited in our gallery on the histories of Black women artists. Her most well known work, “The Liberation of Aunt Jemima” is pictured on the left of the second slide.

𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗝𝗢𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗗 or 𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝙈𝙖𝙮 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙀𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙒𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝘽𝙚 𝘽𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙 𝙏𝙤𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 runs through September 2nd.
