As a trainee sport psych and teacher my main drive in life has always been to help others become the best version of themselves.

Confidence is a difficult trait to naturally have but it’s there in everyone. The only way to become confident is to do things scared. If you allow fear to overcome you every single time, confidence will never grow.

If I decided to never publicly speak in front of adults, I’d still be afraid to do it now - now I’ve tried it, I know and I’m confident I can do it again.

Have 100% confidence to try something new and you’ll become 100% confident to do it again and again. 💯

The only way to really start living, is to stop caring about what other people think. 💫

I started posting online and was more self-conscious of people I knew in real life seeing my posts so I created a new account without telling anyone. I posted loads and got so comfortable with posting that it just felt natural and not nerve wracking anymore. Now, I don’t care at all, I have ppl mentioning my posts in person, and I’m fine with it. You can do this with anything you’ve been putting off because of a fear of being judged.
With most things, you just have to start:

1️⃣ Focus on Self-Discovery: Take time to explore your interests, values, and goals. Understanding yourself better will help you make decisions that align with your true self and feel comfortable doing so. 🐻

2️⃣ Cultivate Self-Confidence: Believe in yourself and your abilities. Practice positive self-talk, celebrate your strengths, and challenge self-limiting beliefs. Why think negatively? Are your thoughts irrational? 🤷🏻‍♀️

3️⃣ Set Boundaries: Learn to say no to things that don’t align with your priorities or values. Or literally block everyone you know until you feel comfortable with yourself to start being yourself🎉

4️⃣ Surround Yourself with Supportive People: Surround yourself with people who encourage you. You’ll always have people who back you, so if you need to tell others, make sure you can still be yourself with them ✨

5️⃣ Take Risks: Step out of your comfort zone and embrace new challenges. Growth and success often come from taking risks and pushing past fear. This is sometimes the only way 💪🏽

6️⃣ Practice Self-Care: Prioritise self-care to nurture your physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. Make time for activities that recharge you. 🧖‍♀️

7️⃣ Focus on Progress, Not Perfection: Embrace imperfection and view mistakes as opportunities for learning and growth. Celebrate your progress, no matter how small. 💯

Remember, the only opinion that truly matters is your own.

Your relationship with yourself is so important and you have to make sure you don’t neglect it. Your thoughts and how you speak to and about yourself are so powerful and can affect how others see you and who you become.

Your entire life can really change in a year. Deep that. It can even change in a day, a single moment. So always make the right choices inshaAllah, because you never know what could happen tomorrow.

Actions are by your intentions so intend to do good and even if it doesn’t go to plan, Allah will reward you for your intention. Try to always do things for the sake of Allah and really intend this, it will show.

When you really work on your relationship with Allah and doing things for His sake, you are also working on your relationship with yourself! ❤️

May Allah allow us all to have a 2024 full of new opportunities, growth and success. And may Allah help our brothers and sisters around the world, especially those in Palestine and Sudan. And may we see a Free Palestine 🇵🇸

Today is world suicide prevention day and this book ‘Eat with Beder’ uses cooking and baking together to raise awareness on mental health.
As a charity cookbook they incorporate stories and advice from well-known personalities and inspiration individuals to help anyone going through something and demonstrate how people can be bought together thought cooking, baking and eating.
Baking cakes and sharing them has always been something I’ve enjoyed doing and I’ve noticed it definitely does bring people together and create a community :)
There’s so much more that needs to be done to help people suffering from mental health issues and raising awareness is a start. Remember to reach out to family and friends or try to talk to someone - lives can be saved through one conversation.

I chose the oat muffin recipe shared by Millie Bright and really enjoyed them! They were sweet and didn’t have that healthy breakfast taste. Definitely more a dessert 🤤

You might look at people around you and think they are ahead of you in life ->

Sometimes, I fall into that trap and think I’m doing things too late and starting things that maybe friends are finishing. I could’ve gone straight into work after graduating or joined a training scheme back then so why am I only doing it now? 💭

But, the important thing is remembering there is no such thing as being behind or ahead unless you are comparing yourself. 🙇‍♀️

You are living life on your own schedule and its okay to sometimes feel like a late bloomer but remember you are right where you need to be. ‼️

For example, if I went straight into work I wouldn’t have met some of the amazing people that are in my life, wouldn’t have acquired the experience and connections I have from schools and wouldn’t even have started this Instagram page! 🤯

Every step you take isn’t mindless wandering, each step is purposeful. Every stop, start and pause has its place in your life so trust the process. Your story is unique and being crafted as we speak. 📝

You will get to the stage you are meant to be at or want to be at regardless of how long it takes. 🧗‍♀️

So, continue to live in the moment, enjoy where you are right now. 🔝

Comparison is the thief of joy and if you’re living life worried that you’re behind everyone else, you’re not really living. 🫥

Allah’s timing is impeccable and your dreams and goals, that you’ve been working on, are unfolding in ways you can’t even see. 🤩

Life is not a race. Life is not a competition. We can all achieve our dreams as long as we keep trying. Shift the focus from racing against others to racing toward a our best selves. 🏃‍♀️

Don’t expect things to be finished or achieved by a certain age or time, just know they will be finished or achieved. 🎉

And remember, it’s not just about the finish line, it’s about the journey that shapes you <3 🏁
