POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

In our first week Uphill Both Ways has already raised over 70% of our goal! Thank you to everyone who has shared, donated, and followed the campaign so that we can continue to make independent queer art!

And speaking of thanks, I owe a huge special thanks to @laservisionproductions for his incredible video series on crowdfunding! Laser’s advice has been invaluable in helping to bring trans stories directly to the people who want to see them. Thank you for showing the path to make films without waiting for studios to give us permission.

The campaign for Uphill Both Ways, my queer family hiking drama, is currently LIVE!

Last year we shot a proof of concept, but now we need help to make the full thing! With hollywood shrinking and trans people disappearing from the media, it’s so exciting to me to get to be making independent trans art. Please consider donating/sharing at the link in our bio or at bit.ly/ubwfilm

We have lots of great incentives for anyone who gives, including a link to see the film before anyone else for everyone who gives $25 or more. And even if you can’t give, please follow the page on seed and spark—and forward it to any wealthy estranged relatives who can.

On May 6, the Seed and Spark campaign for Uphill Both Ways goes live, the short film I’ve been working on for the past year.

This film is deeply personal to me, inspired by my own relationship to masculinity, family, grief, and the way my trans identity has changed the way I interact with all of those things.

I’m going to be posting about it a lot in the coming days but for now, if you haven’t already, please follow the page and consider supporting at the link in my bio, or bit.ly/ubwfilm

It’s probably my favorite thing I’ve ever written, and I need your help to make sure everyone else can see it!

-long tdov post incoming, tldr: support trans art-

i haven’t done a trans day of visibility post since my they/them mohawk era because frankly i’d like to be slightly less visible with the surveillance state so hyper focused on trans folks rn.

but if we’re going to be so scrutinized i’d like to center that visibility on trans art, on the stories trans people are telling ourselves instead of being told about us.

im so grateful for @joywholived where im acting and producing in trans mom v family court by @rejyna.usa and acting in holy mother by @fifidosch both of these artists have been so generous to trust me with their stories

and mark your calendars, im making a movie! @thestrangerkind are making a film about a trans woman (@sammollier) who has to go on a family “boys hike” to receive her inheritance. this is a really personal story to me and i can’t wait for yall to see it. i’ll be posting more updates as it gets closer so stay tuned!
