One of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali that often comes up is 1.33
One of its tenets is MAITRI or FRIENDLINESS

My overriding experience of this incredible Harare Iyengar Yoga Community was just that.. warmth and friendliness. A beautiful, welcoming, dedicated community of Iyengar Yoga practitioners... I learned a lot from them all ! Maitri in action.

Iyengar Yoga has been practised here since the early 1970's !

Our workshop was dedicated to the pioneer in this wonderful city, Gail Dixon, who's teacher was Padma ♡

Guruji I am sure would be so heartened ♡

Thank you all; I am so grateful 🙏🏻 and feel extremely enriched having spent time with you all.

I am truly humbled & grateful to have been included in a 4 day immersive Iyengar yoga workshop right here in Harare.

Everyone who knows me knows my absolute love of movement, the joy I find in simply living in this human body of mine 😁

So to have to chance to be taught, guided & surrounded by these wonderful women was actually a little overwhelming.

I found myself quieter than usual - trying to absorb it all and learning to listen ….. really listen. Listening to quieter voices in my body, now pointing out small subtle things that require awareness & attention……

Little by little, a little becomes a lot…… and although my personal practice is but a drop in the ocean, this week was mind & heart opening in so many ways.

So to Michele, Jen, Ivana, Pippa, Gemma & all who made it happen just simply thank you 🙏🏻
