🕊️Jack Douglas 🕊️

Jack was a brilliant music producer, engineer and songwriter who passed away Monday at the age of 80. His work with John Lennon & Yoko Ono, Aerosmith, Cheap Trick, Patti Smith, and many more has cemented his legacy as one of rock’s most influential producers.

I had the honor of working with Jack back in 2021 when we spent two weeks recording an EP at Brooklyn Recording in Cobble Hill. At the time I was managing and producing a quixotic young rock band that explored multiple genres and band names (Shark Eaters, AN-R-C, 1FIVE1, Eater Life)

Jack discovered the band and a few months later we recorded an EP of 6 originals. I co-wrote the songs + played keys/mellotron/organ *including a Rhodes last played by Sir Paul McCartney* 🫠 Jack tracked a lot of the percussion parts himself which gave the songs so much life. Hopefully those records will see the light of day 🌞

Jack was so generous, always sharing his recording knowledge, song crafting experience, and incredible stories with me and the band alongside his longtime engineer and friend, Jay Messina.

I’ll never forget when he shared his John Lennon stories - recording “Imagine,” playing pranks with doctored maracas, and their final hours spent together at The Record Plant that fateful night. It was all magical and surreal and I’m so grateful to Jack, Jay, and the band for that experience. Music is the most powerful thing in the world.

Thank You Jack 🙏 Rest In Peace 🕊️ Rock On 🤘

This is a poem translated from Cao Van Tuat’s diary. Peter reads it accompanied by drawings from the same diary.

Peter’s first night in the field would never be forgotten. When it was all over, he wasn’t sure how he would survive the next 11 1/2 months of duty but he did.

We ❤️ the Giglio

Each July in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, the Giglio Feast honors Saint Paulinus of Nola: over 100 men lift and carry a 72-foot-tall, flower-covered tower, called the Giglio, through the streets, accompanied by a brass band. Brought by Italian immigrants from Nola over a century ago, the tradition blends faith, pride, and pure Brooklyn character into one of the city’s most electric celebrations.

Directed this video for @goldpandamusic way back when on spec and was inspired to dig it up. A whirlwind running around NY chasing shapes and patterns, camera strapped to my dad’s convertible (thank you abba). Bonkers fun, take me back.

Rich Family Reunion 🌞🩵📸

Every Summer my dad’s side of the family gets together for Family Camp 2, a week-long reunion with a handful of other families and friends at the Dunkirk Conference Center on the shore of Lake Erie just outside Buffalo, NY🦬

I couldn’t attend for the first time in a decade this year due to our shooting schedule but editing these photos really warmed my heart. Enjoy this DCCFC2 2024 collage and take time to make memories with your loved ones this Summer 😊

I’M SO BLESSED!! 🌞 I have the best friends a guy could ask for and it fills my heart whenever we get together to laugh, make music, take photos, and navigate this thing called life ❤️‍🔥

Thank you to everyone who turned up at last year’s birthday bash, to the staff at Jimmy’s Corner for hosting us, and to Kristin & Teju who somehow didn’t make it into any photos but each showed up with ice cream cakes 🎂🦁🎂

This year’s festivities are gonna be a tier above so dm me for the party particulars and HBD to all my fellow Leos ♌️
