From deep into the past to far into the future, where not a lot has changed when it comes to inequality. There’s a certain kind of irony in this #movie coming from corporate giant #Disney.

It’s 2257 & we start w/ an orphan. Caleb #IsaiahRussellBailey lost his father & his mother died a while back. This means he gets his ticket punched for the new world, Omega. Problem is, he doesn’t want to go. It means cryogenic sleep, where his friends will all be old back on the moon.

As a last hurrah, those friends plan to steal a moon rover while the colony is in lock down due to an incoming meteor shower. Dylan #BillyBarratt will drive, bringing along Borny #OrsonHogg & Marcus #ThomasBoyce. The former lives in fear of ghost stories his brother told him about what’s out there. The latter has a heart condition he’s kept to himself. However, the plan requires a code, so they have to loop in Addison #MckennaGrace. She’s new to the moon & the only 1 of them that’s been on Earth, but her dad is important enough to have access. She agrees to help only if she can come along.

The goal is a crater that Caleb’s dad told him to see. Obstacles crop up along the way. The need more oxygen, requiring a side trip to what was supposed to be a depot, but is actually a model home, used to lure moon colonists, which were s no longer needed, as those who can go, go to Omega. It’s not the only 1/2 built edifice they come across.

But while we’re experiencing their adventures, where also learning that the working class is mired in the moon. They owe their souls to the company store & no amount of work relieves that debt. So, Caleb is pushed to leave while he can. It’s like #StandByMe when Gordie becomes a writer, leaving Chris, Teddy & Vern behind.

Consequently, the ending is bittersweet. Won’t tell you how that goes. You’ll have to watch for yourself. Ya know, before Disney pulls it in 6 weeks or so… #movie #movies #film #films #screeningoftheday #SciFI
