BUILDING DETAILS - ELECTRICAL …

Lots happening inside now, with the frames up and the house pretty much weather tight. The electricians have been busy installing all the wiring and cabling for my house.

OMG guys all the wires = a shitload of decisions made. As you will know, it’s much easier and more cost effective to move them before the gib goes up!

So for what feels like ages, I’ve been looking over the electrical plans. Dare I admit that I’m over them. But I know I need to make sure I’m happy with that all the lights, switches, power outlets, appliances etc are in the position I want them to be. And the lads need to make sure there is bracing in the walls and ceiling for the heavier light fittings!

But it hasn’t all been tedious… the fun bit with the electrical plans is finalising and ordering all the lights, switches and power outlets.

Guys I can’t wait to share with you the lights I have chosen. I think most of you will be surprised with my choices. Very different to what I have in my WTB.

It was a pleasure to return to an early Studio Myla project last year to finish some interior details. Within a larger open room a distinct scaled down space was carved out - a cozy, rich, cocooning lounge of timber wall paneling paired with a custom red wine upholstered sofa and the clients @sarahsmutskennedy artworks.

The space is carefully screened from both sides - from the bathroom door on the right with a tall timber and brass screen and from the next door neighbors on the left using a textural linen sheer curtain.

LET THERE BE LIGHT

Sarah’s kitchen is a work of art. The golden glasses. The lemons with the grey, black and white. Those artworks, so perfect for that space.

And the beautiful brass Thom light switch from @thethomlightswitch is a work of art itself.

Carefully considered design details like these take the homes renovated by Sarah @sarah_lods and her husband Philippe Lods next level. Can’t wait to see their next project!
