I’d like to wish my better half a big good luck in her new adventure at @thetraininggroundnj in their new location in Oakhurst. If any of my Athlete followers in that area need a good PT then check them out.

In-season training isn’t about doing more — it’s about maintaining what the athlete has built. ⚽️⚡️

With practices, skills sessions, and games already creating a high workload, training for @hannahgiammetta is about providing enough stimulus to maintain strength and power without adding unnecessary fatigue.

For this session, we focused on maintaining power, lower-body strength, posterior-chain capacity, trunk stability, and lower-leg resilience while keeping overall volume controlled.

Landmine squat-to-presses gave us a lower-fatigue way to express power, while reverse lunges, hip thrusts, and our accessory work helped maintain the strength and tissue capacity she needs throughout the season.

The goal of an in-season lift isn’t to leave the athlete exhausted.

Stimulate → maintain → recover → perform.

Keep the qualities we’ve built while making sure she’s ready for the demands that actually matter: practice and game day. ⚽️🔥

Posterior tib rehab with the one & only @zara_soccer_2011 ⚽️

With a focus on:
• Dry needling
• Ankle mobility
• Foot + arch strength
• Landing mechanics
• Glute + lower extremity strength

Injuries typically occur when load exceeds capacity. So the goal isn’t to just feel better. It’s to build the capacity to handle more.

Ankle mobility. Arch Strength. Landing Mechanics. Lower Extremity Strengthening.

Build capacity. Return Stronger💪

Acceleration + Strength Day ⚡️

This session was focused on helping Leandro become stronger and more efficient through the first few steps of his acceleration.

We worked through:
• Hip hinge + acceleration positions
• Wall drills → sled bounds → acceleration
• Single-leg strength + horizontal power
• Hip, hamstring + lower-leg strength
• Upper-body strength
• Bike intervals to finish with conditioning

The goal isn’t just to get stronger — it’s learning how to produce force, control it, and apply it to sprinting.

Building the foundation now so we can continue progressing toward more speed and power. 🏃🏽‍♂️💨 #sportsperformancetraining #track #sprinter #thetrainingground #performance

In-Season Lift.

All the progress you make in the gym, DOESN’T stop once you are in season. This is a very common mistake that athletes make in season which then makes them weaker, slower, and then injuries appear. To keep it simple… MAKE SURE TO LIFT IN SEASON!!!

Clearance to play is just the starting line—it isn’t the finish line. ⚽️📈

When Genesis, a collegiate soccer player at Rutgers, came to me 1.5+ years post-left ACL reconstruction, she was already cleared. But being cleared to play and having the force production, eccentric braking, and movement confidence to dominate at the D1 level are two completely different things.

Here is how we bridged the gap from return-to-sport to peak performance:

Building the Foundation (Capacity): Early on, we addressed her force asymmetries head-on. Her VALD NordBord testing showed a jump from a 23% hamstring asymmetry down to 8.2%, alongside significant improvements in single-leg force output.

Expressing Force Athletically: We transitioned from controlled unilateral strength work to explosive single-leg thrusts, jump variations, and eccentric force acceptance—bumping her CMJ height from 6.7” to 8.5” and boosting relative peak power from 34.1 to 39.5 W/kg.

Translating to the Pitch (Sport): Today, Genesis isn’t treated like an ACL patient. She’s trained like the elite athlete she is. Watch how her training moves from high-load strength to rapid multi-directional decelerations, reactive jumps, and sport-specific redirections designed to handle the unpredictability, speed, and fatigue of collegiate soccer.

Rehab is Performance. Performance is Rehab. The goal is never just passing a test—it’s building enough athletic capacity that you move with total confidence when it counts. ⚡️
