No, taking stills is rarely a priority when we’re out filming for the Loop’s series. Nevertheless, we always try to squeeze in some photos here and there, and sometimes those photos line up with moments that turn out to be a bit extra special to us (probably even more so when you look at them in retrospect). Here are 10 of those special moments from recent years.

”We will just get the cow out of the living room”, said one of the guides, as we parked outside an old and even by our standards, utterly sorry excuse for a house. We were in the very south of Patagonia, surrounded by cows and free roaming horses. Eventually our living- room-cow moved out and after some cleaning and portable light arrangements the shack had been turned into our new home for the upcoming days. Long story short, it was one of the most amazing accommodations we ever have stayed in. The last night the guys even made Asado, and it was an otherworldly experience. Would go back and do it all over in a heartbeat.

Guess there’s few destinations that puts more pressure on a film-team than New Zealand. The thing is, we always tell each other that we don’t think a fly-fishing film is about catching fish, but to quote our good friend and storytelling genius @rolfnylinder “If you’re making a film about blueberries, you need to have some blueberries in it”. So, when the rain had poured down for most of the days which had blown out most of the rivers, it was a huge relief to see this amazingly beautiful fish land on the camera’s memory card. Btw, the quote is from Rolf’s and Håvard Stubø’s @jazznflyfishing recent episode on Loop’s channel. It’s epic. Go watch it if you haven’t.

“Any damn fool can be uncomfortable”, said NZ guide legend Tony Entwistle and brought out three foldable chairs along with some cold beers from his car. Tony’s car btw, had served him for more than 60.000 km, mostly with visiting fly fishers riding shotgun. The remarkable thing was that the car seemed practically in mint condition. When Tony placed a towel on his lap while having a sandwich in that same car, we were just speechless not to mention totally embarrassed, thinking about how we often treat the cars we normally use

Craig Montana should be on your list 📝

No this is not a sponsored post...but when we decided last minute that we wanted to add on to our Montana trip, all it took was one call to @karlieroland and she had us connected with @thetroutshop which set us up with lodging, guides, gear, and good times.

Tiny town. Big trout. What's not to love!?
