Come for the run. Stay for the gay.

We’re turning 3.1 miles into three days of Big Gay Weekend shenanigans. Parties, drag, dancing, drinks and a whole lot of queer Tucson.

Make a weekend of it! Our host hotel, @thetuxon, has discounted rooms for a 2-night stay (Friday and Saturday).

One race. Two nights. Three days of fun in The Old Pueblo.

October 23–25. Grab your people. Book your room. Register now.

We just hit 12 states represented in Big Gay 5K registration.

Now, yes, three of those states are technically represented by my cousins, who will be running 3.1 miles and then running amok, amok, amok around Tucson for the rest of the weekend.

But still: TWELVE STATES.

Which means some of you are coming to town. Some of you are hosting friends and family. And some of you are going to need a very comfortable place to land after all this Big Gay nonsense.

We’re so happy to welcome @thetuxon as our official HOST HOTEL for Big Gay Weekend.

The team at The Tuxon has been incredibly welcoming, and we’re working together to make sure our Big Gay guests feel comfortable, cared for, and very much at home for the weekend.

Our hotel deal is set up for Friday and Saturday nights — check in Friday, check out Sunday — and The Tuxon is just about one mile from the downtown action, including the Kickoff Kiki and the 5K start/finish.

Close enough to stay in the middle of everything. Far enough away to recover with dignity.

And yes, that weekend includes a Big Gay Pool Party on Saturday afternoon.

DJ. Bar. Pool. Tucson sunshine. Questionable decisions involving inflatable objects.

If you’re into being close to the splashing chaos, ask about a poolside room.

And pack the unicorn floaty.

We’ve also added a Big Gay Weekend tab to the website, and we’ll keep filling it with more queer-focused and queer-friendly events to keep you occupied, entertained, fed, hydrated, danced out, and mildly overbooked for three straight days.

Come for the run. Stay for the gaycation.

Now serving Ray Ray’s Sonoran at the Tuxon Hotel!! ✨🌵 Old-school Tucson motor lodge energy, but make it modern. Soaking up the sun by the pool with an ice cold can of Ray Ray’s Sonoran Tea. This spot is the ultimate boutique escape—chic design, retro bones, and total comfort.
