I’m in Philadelphia to celebrate the 150tgh Anniversary of the United States’ oldest dermatology society, the ADA or American Dermatological Association, held at the Ritz Carlton. Only a limited number of American members under 65 can be elected and up to 5 international honorary members each year. I was elected back in 2008, sponsored by Prof Wilma Bergfeld, along with @johnmcgrath180 as an international honorary member. This year I introduced Prof Chia Yu (Charles) Chu @chu.chiayu to the ADA family- the third member to be elected from Taiwan. I was also invited to speak in a session cochaired by Jean Bolognia and Chris Griffiths about dermatology achievements around the world. My task was Asia-Oceania. Prof Abdul Kibbe spoke on Middle East-Africa and Prof Jorge Ocampo on Latin America. The celebratory lunch to present the new members took place at the Union League of Philadelphia and the 150th anniversary celebration dinner at the Franklin Institute, chaired by ADA President, Prof Hensin Tsao from Harvard, where Prof Henry Lim received a special award. Whilst the new inductees were receiving onboarding I toured the incredible Barnes Foundation with its huge collection of impressionist paintings, particularly Renoir, Manet, Seurat, Gauguin, Degas but also Modigliani and Picasso. It’s always a pleasure to learn from the experts about the latest in dermatology and to connect with old and new friends.

The AI conversation I’m most interested in right now isn’t about what technology can do.

It’s about what happens to us when it can do almost everything.

And frankly, I’d like to keep my brain in the process.

That’s why I’m especially excited to welcome Ethan Mollick to The Union League of Philadelphia on November 9 for 𝐂𝐨-𝐄𝐱𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐏𝐡𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐈.

What I love about Ethan’s approach is that he’s not just predicting the future of AI. He’s experimenting with it, challenging it, and occasionally reminding us that these remarkably intelligent systems can also be remarkably wrong.

Which, come to think of it, makes them a little more human than we might like to admit.

But the bigger questions fascinate me.

What should we hand over to AI? What should we hold onto? And how do we become better thinkers, creators and leaders without letting technology do all the thinking for us?

Ethan has been exploring these questions at The Wharton School, where his work is helping shape how we think about AI in business, education and everyday life.

I think we’re entering one of the most interesting periods of change any of us will experience. And I’d much rather be part of the conversation than have an algorithm tell me what I missed.

Somehow, “our casual Saturday” involved a masquerade ball for 400 guests, a balcony set with our electric strings, and sharing the night alongside our friends from BVTLive! and Big Ric Rising! ❤️🎻

The 2026 CHURCHILL INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE and GALA DINNER specially held in Philadelphia on our nation’s 250th anniversary.

Churchill was initiated into Studholme Lodge No. 1591 (now the United Studholme Alliance Lodge) in London on May 24, 1901….and it was brilliantly decided to hold the gala there.

Had an incredibly special and memorable night last night introducing the Nashville Songwriting Community to my hometown crowd. Thank you so much to @theunionleague for letting us bring a little Music City Magic to The City of Brotherly Love, it was so special to be able to have family and friends get a window into what I’ve been up to down in Tennessee for almost 9 years 🤯 Here’s to the first of many!! 🦅🔔🇺🇸
