In just FOUR more days, we are having our second run of Christian Games Night on 27 Oct, 7-10pm. Registration link in bio.

To be clear, we are not trying to be a board games cafe and our games are thematic. I've received so much support doing this from people and even @theupperroomsgcafe itself. Support can come in many forms, including encouragement, practical hands on support, and even simply... Your participation! Don't tarry any longer, click register in our bio.

Come with an open heart to make new friends, fellowship and have fun with people of like minded faith. After all, playing with others multiples the fun. Playing with brothers and sisters of the same faith tops that!

We hope you can make friends but also learn more about both prominent and obscure bible characters or objects or events and enjoy our own game - Plaguexodus.

Imagine having to leave behind your home, familiar surroundings, and the life you once knew, only to find yourself in a place where you may not have the legal right to work, despite having valuable skills and experience. For many refugees, this is a daily reality.

🧵 Discover the art of wirecraft!
Meet Alireza and Fatima, a hardworking couple who fled their homeland seeking safety. Drawing on skills learned in a car mechanic garage as a youth, Alireza transforms wire into beautiful handcrafted creations.

Behind every piece is more than craftsmanship. It is a father’s determination to raise his young child, a son’s desire to care for his elderly mother, and a family’s hope for a more secure future in unfamiliar surroundings. With Fatima by his side, he continues to be resourceful and find ways forward despite the uncertainties they face.

Their story reminds us that individuals are not defined by mere circumstances, or by what happened to them. Come learn a new craft, support this couple’s work, and be part of a community that values skills, dignity, and wholistic livelihoods.*

At Hi-story.page, we believe everyone deserves opportunities to use their talents, earn an income, and rebuild their lives with dignity.

The Upper Room Restaurant & Cafe is your cozy getaway for handmade pizzas, fusion pasta, and signature Yakitori skewers. Join us any day of the week for delicious food, refreshing drinks, and soulful music in a relaxed, welcoming vibe. Find out more @theupperroomsgcafe

Last Tuesday was awesome! We hosted our very first Christian Games Night at @theupperroomsgcafe – amazing fun, super themed! Christian Games Night is on Tuesdays from 7 to 10 PM.

We had a blast with fellowship, laughter, and games. Come for our next session, and bond with brethren, next Tuesday, 7 days from now on October 27th, 7-10 PM.

Come and make new friends, maybe even up your Bible knowledge, or check out some of our new games. We also adapted and changed the games to make it more inclusive so people of differing levels of knowledge can join.

Come with friends, come alone. Come to play, come to laugh. Join to chill, join to rack your brains. While I recognise there cannot be a one sized fits all night (if you know pls tell me), we do our best to improve and make each session better and we want YOU to join us.

We are connected by our faith, but we're also really keen on building those relational connections even more. So, come on and join us! The link to sign up is in our bio (and seriously, pls don't wait till the last minute to register, it makes me so anxious).

There's a lot that goes behind an event.

There's a lot that goes behind a small biz.

Who's actually interested in looking at what goes behind the scenes when we're a society made of outcome driven creatures?

Posting regardless - all in a day of my small biz: Collecting stock (cartons of Plaguexodus). Bringing stock around. Doing venue recce of @theupperroomsgcafe and wanting to film some content, but having ppl walk past. Writing invitation cards to our first Christian Games Night. Filming and filming and in the end only coming up with 9sec reels. Editing reels.

Posting videos that gets unfollowers in the already small pool of followers. It's pretty amusing tbh, but that's all in a day's work.

Help me out, join us for Christian Games Night next Tue, 7-10pm. Registration link in bio, be there or be 🔲. ☺️

We're back with games nights, now on Tuesdays! After a mini hiatus, we are ready to bring the fun to The Upper Room Cafe. Get ready for a night of food, fun, and fellowship with friends.

We are returning with not just any games night, but a Christian-themed games night to make you feel like you are at church camp or retreat without leaving the city or going to the chalet. It’s time to bond with brethren at The Upper Room.

Expect our games nights at Upper Room to feature some exclusive, original games crafted just for our sessions. Let the laughs and bonding begin.

Scan the QR code to register at $24 including dinner, or $12 without dinner:

In case you haven't heard of us, we are Somniatory Games, the creators of Plaguexodus, an original card game inspired by the Exodus from Egypt. Our mission? To get folks off their screens and make genuine connections by playing together. (Your non-believing friends can also play Plaguexodus! Let’s plant a seed in their hearts together.)

Food just tastes better in the right ambience and with the right company. Don’t say we never say - we have curated a special delightful dinner menu just for the games night.

A — Nonya Chicken Curry
Nonya Chicken Curry & Potato served with Rice, Scrambled Egg & French Beans
B — Hainanese Braised Meatballs
Hainanese Braised Meatballs & Shimeiji Mushrooms served with Rice, Scrambled Egg & French Beans
C — Spaghetti Marinara
Spaghetti Marinara with Teriyaki Baked Chicken Thigh
D — Fish Assam Pedas
Fish Assam Pedas & Straw Mushrooms served with Rice, Scrambled Egg & French Beans

Last evening, I had the privilege to participate in #unfiltered conversations representing Somniatory Games, and for my own personal motivations.

Unfiltered Conversations offers a safe space for youth who yearn for deeper conversations about their purpose in life, values etc.

Did @alphasingapore fulfill their aim of helping youth engage on a deeper level? 💯. Hosted at @theupperroomsgcafe, the discussions are guided over a delightful dinner in a small, cozy group. Delicious food and great company in a charming cafe, paired with games, makes the perfect setting for individuals to cultivate connections.

What personal motivations? I had intended to develop Somniatory Game's own conversation starter game, for similar purposes. Ultimately, I chose not to, due to the abundance of similar games already available.

Observing how Unfiltered ran, I remain convinced that games can help people understand others in ways they might not have otherwise probed. Nevertheless, being genuine, sincerely curious and showing interest in the person with whom you are conversing with helps in achieving the same outcome.

Beyond conversations, as Somniatory Games, we aspired to create a different kind of game. We aimed to create a game that challenges players' minds, didn't need contextual knowledge, yet still helped with educating players about the bible. Thus, Plaguexodus. Plaguexodus requires you to engage your mind to recall plague placement.

While we didn't end up creating our own conversational game product, we do play such games during our game nights and sessions. Join us upon our return.
