The ’80s are back, baby...and so are the early 2000s? This denim jacket was my first purchase from @thevaultri , and it was love at first sight. The denim is perfectly soft and broken in, but the real magic is in the shoulders and the delicate cutout embroidery on the capelet. The appliqué is embroidered organza layered over leather, a detail that’s hard to fully appreciate in a photo. Someone put a lot of thought into this one. Underneath is Chicasual, designed and made by me under my own label. This little top is a souvenir from a whole other chapter of my life, before Covid, before kids, when I was building a clothing line from the ground up. I’m not actively selling anymore, although I do still have some inventory at my parents’ house if you want one 😉 But I still love pulling these pieces out. They remind me of the long hours, hard work, and figuring-it-out-as-I-went that went into making something of my own. Funny how clothes can bring you right back to a version of yourself you haven’t thought about in a while. I wish I could go back and give that girl a hug - talk her to trust her gut, stop giving a F what everyone else thinks, and just keep going. ✨ #vintage #secondhandstyle #vintagestyle #ootd

Finally got to get properly spooky and Halloween-prepped in our space @thevaultri Added a costume section for some helpful starting points if you’re stuck on what to be this year but feel like wearing vintage 💙 Okay so maybe not a costume but idk be a sexy pumpkin or just festive and hot in these delectable orange 60s nighties. Even better in person How is this handmade ren faire dress still around?! Giant bell sleeves, gorgeous mustard color, and a solid weight to keep you warm out late. Be a princess or a maiden or sunshine literally anything Incredible handmade cowgirl dress. Has a couple minor stains, but it’s such a rad and killer people. Not exactly sure on era but I’d guess 1950s. Masc counterpart to the cowgirl dress! Super rad Outlaw brand denim with real suede patches and fringe down the sides. Ahoy! Sailor? Captain? Nautical lass? Just add a little cap to this romper and you’re ready to go. Deadstock* too! *that means it’s vintage but never worn/the tags are still on it! Posh Spice. Duh. Next. Oh my god so many. Vintage Dolly Victorian ghost lady Gibson girl Probably some scary possessed doll or girl from a movie Think it MIGHT be a gunne sax too! Tag has been cut out. But absolutely gorgeous Details!! Love this lacy bib Black lace minis! Yes I know goth is a year round look and aesthetic commitment for many, but for those of us who need some color the rest of the year, October is perfect for witchy vibes. More stellar black lace dresses The long sleeve on the right is from my personal collection. Late 50s/early 60s. Sooo beautiful and moody Miss Frizzle! Or kooky art teacher (aka miss frizzle) Carrie in a mini 80s prom queen C*nty Princess Peach Love this one. Another from my personal collection -funky schoolteacher -hot librarian -idk just wear it as a regular outfit? Feeling festive and spooky ookie over here now. Some pieces make you wonder how far they’ve traveled. This skirt was one of my favorite finds from the summer, picked up at @thevaultri in Providence. The label says Herman Geist, which seems to trace back to the ’80s, but the fabric feels straight out of the ’70s. It’s pieced together like a quilt, covered in embroidery, and finished with a simple strip of grosgrain ribbon down the front. A little bit of everything, which is why it came home with me. The sweater is an AllSaints hand-me-down from a designer I used to work for. One of many souvenirs from a chapter of my career I wouldn’t rush back to (yes, The Devil Wears Prada hit a little close to home). Unless it was on my terms, of course 😉 For today, it’s the skirt, these ridiculously fun clip-on earrings, and weather that still lets me leave the jacket and umbrella at home. #vintage #vintagestyle #secondhandstyle #ootd

LUNCH IN PROVIDENCE: there’s a little bit of everything for lunch downtown, from pretzel sandwiches at @maltedbarleyprovidence to Thai food at @phedphedpvd. We also recommend @cielitomexicankitchen @rollers_pvd @suraprovidence and @suyajointprov. GROCERIES IN PROVIDENCE: while there are large chain grocery store options in the city, we love the unique selections in our neighborhood. From Japanese offerings at @maruichiprovidence, to deli sandwiches made to order at @serendipitygourmet173, you can find us grabbing a quick lunch or snack at either. SHOPPING SMALL IN PROVIDENCE: the indie shops on historic Westminster Street truly make downtown so special! Shop for clothing at @queenofheartsandmodernlove or @thevaultri; books at @symposiumbooks; shoes and skate equipment at @civilprovidence; gifts and art at @craftland and @homestyleri; wine (if you’re 21+) at @enofinewines; or brighten up your dorm or apartment with fresh flowers from @jephry_floral_studio. HAIRCARE IN PROVIDENCE: whether you need a hair trim or a completely new look, @gum.pvd or @urbanfellowbarbershop have you covered. DINNER IN PROVIDENCE: sometimes the dining commons just aren’t cutting it, or your family is in town and it’s time to really change it up… Either way, we love the food scene in downtown Providence!
