We went to Okinawa for a four day weekend- it was beautiful and eye opening and fun! I won't say that the warm weather was THE reason for moving to Japan but it was a major factor swaying us to take the leap. We were hot and blissfully sweaty and swam in the ocean! When my feet are in the sand and there is warm sunlight on my face, I feel so much more hopeful and at peace. So that was nice. And I got to wear some of my fav summer pieces! Some reflections: I think it was a very different vibe there than it often is (read: lack of visible militar y personnel) because of yet another recent atrocity committed against Okinawan women. I learned a lot and have a lot of learning (listening) to do about the history of Okinawa and the ongoing impact of outside (you know) militar y presence on the island.

Let the record show that I love Victoria!!! So thankful for what I get to do and all the people I meet through it. So proud of @josh.romyn for completing his 2nd marathon!!! And so proud of myself for being so good at eating, shopping, and relaxing. ❤️
