Nazm: Khamosh Manzar (The Silent Scene)

Roman Urdu:

Yeh shaam ka dhalta saaya, yeh shafaq ki surkhi
Ek khamosh tamanna, ek adhoori kahani

Kabhi phoolon ki narmi jaib mein chhupi
Kabhi nazron mein basi ek gehri veerani

Woh haath jo billi ke lams se shanasa hai
Woh aks jo dhundla hai, magar bolta hai

Gulab ke rangon mein chhupi hai koi yaad
Aur aakhir mein bas ek harf, jo sab kholta hai

English Translation:

This fading shadow of evening, this crimson sky
A silent longing, an incomplete story.

Sometimes the softness of flowers hidden in a pocket
Sometimes a deep desolation settled in the eyes

That hand familiar with the touch of a cat
That reflection which is blurred, yet speaks

A memory is hidden within the colors of the flowers
And at the end, just a phrase that reveals it all.
