If you’re around any of these shows, don’t miss it!

1. WatchTime Düsseldorf @watchtimemagazine : It’s taking place between the 23rd and 25th of October and will host over 70 renowned manufacturers, as well as micro and independent brands.
2. Manchester Watch Show @the_watch_collectors_club : Taking place on November 7th, will host around 40 watch brands from the UK, Europe, and across the world.
3. Watches of Italy @watchesofitaly : This year’s 7th edition is happening in Milan between the 14th and 15th of November and is dedicated to independent watchmaking. It will gather around 50 brands.
4. Micro Praha @micropraha : happening on the 28-29 November. This is probably one of my favorite events of the year. Top selection of brands and a super relaxed atmosphere. It is also a great show for some last-minute Christmas gift shopping!

A little behind-the-scenes look at the "Watches in Focus" event with the @thewatchcc in London over the weekend!

I was invited along to talk about my approach to watch photography, covering everything from composition and lighting to finding interesting locations and telling a story through an image.

As well as the presentation, I got to spend some time working with people keen to learn more about photography, showing them how I approach composing a scene, what I look for and how small changes can make a big difference to the final image.

I managed to capture some of those moments using my Meta glasses, so here's a little look at the day from my perspective!

Really enjoyed sharing a bit of my process, chatting all things photography and meeting some fellow watch enthusiasts.

@i_am_rolexed and I headed to London for a little watch weekend. Naturally, we spent some time looking at watches — more on those in a separate post from @i_am_rolexed — but Saturday was all about photographing them.

The Watch Collectors’ Club had organised the Watches in Focus Photography Lab at Lumière London in Shoreditch. A wonderfully characterful venue, with the club’s founders, Hamish Robertson and Ed Howkins, making us feel very welcome.

The day combined talks with hands-on sessions, introducing us to three quite different approaches to watch photography.

Mark Cody from @realwatchbrothers showed us how he uses props and composition. It was fascinating to see how much the setting and positioning of a watch can influence the final image.

Rich from @richmediaproductions took us beyond the studio: spotting a good shot while out and about, making the most of the available light and surroundings, and bringing a sense of story to the photograph.

Alexander Darlington, @alexander.darlington, explored the finer details of ultra-high-resolution product photography, sharing examples from his work with Cartier and A. Lange & Söhne. Lighting, reflections and focus stacking — a fascinating look at the work behind those images where every edge and surface is razor-sharp.

We spend plenty of time studying dials, proportions and finishing. This was a chance to explore how to capture those qualities in a photograph.

A thoroughly enjoyable day of getting into the details, experimenting and talking watches. A big thank you to Hamish, Ed and The Watch Collectors’ Club for a fantastic experience.

Now let’s see whether any of it shows in our next wrist shots. 😉
