Almost husband material! This Wicker Cauldron will add the perfect touch of whimsy to your home, altar or sacred space that needs a little touch of magic. Made of hand painted antique gold resin, this cauldron will bring some magic to your space.

Even though these were mundane everyday use items in the household. The imagery of the cauldron over the fire was still synonymous with the archetype of the witch. The worldview at this time believed in magic, and the hearth was associated with strong spiritual connotations. In some slavic folklore it was said that the Domovoi resided here. He was thought to be the souls of deceased family members, making him a part of ancestor worship traditions. It’s no wonder cooking utensils such as spoons and cauldrons were thought to have mystical qualities.

Oculus Bat Baltic Amber Amulet Pendant

Slavic folklore sometimes viewed bats as flying evil spirits, vampires, or the soul of a sleeping witch. In Russia, people called them Kikimora, believing their presence in a home was a bad omen. Superstitionsclaimed that encountering a bat foretold illness or the death of a loved one. Many stories portrayed bats as blood-sucking creatures that drained vital life energies from humans.

If bats were around when I was a child, I remember my Baba yelling at me to run away and cover my hair. This was a leftover superstition from her Ukrainianancestry, a persistent old wives’ tale from Europe. People believed that bats would get tangled in women’s hair and require removal with scissors.

Due to blindness bats served as a talismans against evil eye. Bulgarians and Macedonians would sew a wing, head or skin of a bat into their clothes. Poles hung bats in the stable to guard their horses. They sometimes even nailed them to doors as protection from witches, illness, and misfortune.

People wear Baltic Amber to avert misfortune, for protection, and to guard against black magic. It casts out devils, wards off the evil eye, brings luck in love, and makes the wearer stronger and cleverer. They believed Baltic Amber pulled diseases from the body and attracted good luck, much like it attracts dust when rubbed. The ancient Greeks observed this ability to generate static electricity and named Amber “elektron”.

Are you afraid of bats? 🦇

In Ukrainian folklore the celestial stars in the sky are thought to be lit candles or the souls of the dead. If a large numbers of stars were seen in the night sky it was thought to be an omen perceived as prosperity, wealth, and good harvests. This included plentiful grain, fruit, livestock, berries, and mushrooms.

Baltic Amber has associations with time, cycles, and longevity. As it was once a living substance, it’s related to spirit. Alleged to extend protection to the wearer, avert misfortune, keep its owner safe from black magic, guard one from the evil eye, bring luck in love, and even makes it’s owner stronger and cleverer.

Warm to the touch and containing the very essence of life itself. People believed Baltic Amber “pulled out” diseases from the body and “attracted” good luck. Much in the same way it attracts dust when rubbed. The ancient Greeks noted this ability to generate static electricity and called Amber “elektron”.

The Star Bright Baltic Amber Ring is set in .925 silver and adjustable for all to enjoy!
