Congratulations to @theworkroom.mn on 5 YEARS and to @honeyhourmn for their soft launch!! 🍵🍲

I cannot understate how amazing it is to be able to provide a soundscape for others and be on this parallel journey with dance. What started as revisiting a skill from 10 years ago branched off into a YouTube rabbit hole while I was super sick a little over a year ago. Well, that rabbit hole has now culminated in my first stage production sound gig and public event 🥹

Thank you @ashleyyangtao 💙💛

Little me would be stoked to know that not only am I a dance teacher, but I also choreograph and perform my own pieces! Will dream about this show for a while. Thanks to these two for helping my vision come to life.

Every dance studio in Minneapolis!!
Comment if I missed any :-)
*Note: This is specifically studios that offer drop in classes for adults, and have hip hop, house, and different street style dance classes. Sometimes Latin dance. This also doesn’t include studios that use AI posters.

Thank you @theworkroom.mn and @shesinvited for giving me the space and opportunity to teach this piece!

One of my goals for this year and onward is to find and enrich my dance voice, and a big part of that is through creating and teaching. As a dancer you spend most of your time learning other people’s choreographies and adapting to their styling and visions, and I find that although this has strengthened me as a dancer, it has in some ways diminished me as my own creative. Training in a plethora of styles, as well as discovering, maintaining, polishing, and evolving our own voices, are imperative, and I’m so grateful for all of the opportunities to do so

It’s been so fun getting to imagine what Latin fusion might look like and introduce it to these lovely ladies. I will not pretend to be an instructor in every style I incorporate, but as an international dancer myself, I see as an opportunity to explore the intersections between various styles together🌺

Classes will be every Tuesday in October, 8:30pm at Workroom Studio😊

Been a hot minute since I've done solo dance, and this heels class @theworkroom.mn was SO much fun!!
I've got to pull my high heels out of storage and practice a bit more, but for now enjoy today's warm up (and fuzzy video quality - sorry!)! 😊✨️
