Another frenetic day at the 2026 FAI World Championships at Skydive Arizona in Eloy, USA! 🔥👏🏼

The first World Champions of the week have been crowned!
The 6TH FAI World Speed Skydiving Open Championship standard event is complete after eight rounds, and the four gold medals went to four different nations 🏆

👉🏼 Open (average over 8 rounds) 🥇 Sebastián García Gutiérrez @sebas.garciaa 🇪🇸 540.59 km/h 🥈 Niklas Daniel 🇺🇸 539.16 km/h 🥉 Simon Walsh @swalshed 🇦🇺 533.72 km/h

García Gutiérrez takes the title from the reigning champion, with a 545.09 km/h round along the way: a new world record, pending FAI ratification.

⚡ Female: Natisha Dingle @_tisharae_ 🇦🇺, averaging over 500 km/h: the first woman in Speed Skydiving history to break the 500 km/h barrier ⚡ Master: Thorsten Morhaus @thorstenmorhaus 🇩🇪 ⚡ Team: USA 🇺🇸

Canopy Piloting got under way on Tuesday 20 October with the Speed discipline, where pilots race through the course as fast as they can 🙌🏼

Road to Karlsruhe | Relive The World Games 2025 in Chengdu 🥋

What a stage for ju-jitsu! And the journey continues: the next World Games take place in Karlsruhe, Germany, from 19 to 29 July 2029.

Four ju-jitsu disciplines will be on the programme: Duo, Fighting, Jiu-Jitsu (Ne-Waza) and Inclusive Self Defence.

Canopy Piloting: speed and precision over water! And the road to The World Games 2029 starts here! 🪂🔥

Small, highly agile parachutes, flown just above the surface. Pilots dive through steep turns to build speed, level out over a pond and enter a course where spectators can watch from nearby! 👏🏼

Three events decide the World Champion:

👉🏼 Speed: a 70-metre carved course. World record 1.691 seconds, around 149 km/h.
Distance: fly as far as possible past the entry gate. The best go beyond 200 metres.

👉🏼 Accuracy: drag a foot through the water zones, then land standing in a one-by-two-metre target.

👉🏼 In Freestyle, it’s pre-declared tricks at full speed, in contact with the water, finished with a stand-up landing.

The 11th World Championships in Canopy Piloting and the 5th in Freestyle take place in Eloy, USA, 18 to 24 October. They also open FAI’s three-year campaign towards The World Games 2029 in Karlsruhe, where Canopy Piloting is confirmed on the programme.

👀👉🏼 Who to watch: world number one Curt Bartholomew @aex_clutch (USA) defends his title against European champion Cédric Veiga Rios @cedricveigariosiae (FRA) and Armando Fattoruso @armando_fattoruso (ITA). First jumps: Tuesday 20 October.

The feedback from Chengdu has been fantastic. Now we’re putting it to work for Karlsruhe 2029 🙌

Our Secretary General, Brian Nook, met with IWGA Sports Director Sebastian Garvens and CEO Constance Terrier at their headquarters to begin planning FICS’ chiropractic services for the next World Games 🌍

We’ve heard so much positive feedback from the international federations whose athletes received care from our team at Chengdu 2025. For every FICS chiropractor who was there, that’s something to be proud of. Your work made an impression, and those conversations are continuing.

Next week: the first technical meeting in Karlsruhe, where FICS will present our services to international federations, the local organising committee and national Olympic committees.

We’re excited to continue our relationship with The World Games and help create more opportunities for our members to care for athletes on this stage 🌍
