The Hand is an amazing mechanism. Hands can be smarter than your head.
I make the hand to celebrate and treasure the abilities and construction of the hand.
I have a hand building workshop November 16+17th at @thewrightclay_studio

Shout out to @thewrightclay for blessing us with her talent and wisdom and offering a variety of sculpting classes for all skill levels. If you are in the Portland area, I can’t recommend enough that you take a class or a workshop from her—especially if you’re already a ceramicist and need to shake things up! I built and sculpted one head (the red clay one) in her weekend workshop, and the other (white clay) on my own using the techniques she taught me. Anyway, this isn’t a sponsored post or anything 😂I just felt like my ceramic practice was really revitalized by trying something new, being bad at it, and doing something just for the sake of learning.
