From hosting birthday parties together to watching my bestie-cousin become an AUTHOR. 🥹📚❤️

Found this old video of me and my cousin BritTany hosting on our birthdays, and the look in her eyes has me cracking up. 😂 It’s giving, “Cousin, we gotta do this… so let’s DO IT!”

We’ve been co-captains through birthdays, memories, laughs and all kinds of life — and now I get to watch my cousin step into a whole new chapter.

Brittany’s book officially drops October 20th! 📖✨

I’m SO proud of you, cousin. Watching you bring this to life is beautiful. My BritTany is officially an AUTHOR! 🥹❤️

What an incredible day at the AKA Author's Symposium held at the Barack & Michelle Obama Academy! 📚

Yesterday, I had the privilege of leading a workshop on self-publishing, sharing both practical strategies and lessons from my own journey as an author (Yes, I wrote a book! Working on # 2). There's something powerful about walking others through the process I once navigated myself—from manuscript to published book.

The energy in the room was contagious. Attendees came ready with questions, ideas, and a genuine hunger to bring their stories to life. We covered actionable steps they can implement immediately, and I shared the real talk—the challenges, the victories, and everything in between that comes with self-publishing.

Beyond the workshop, reconnecting with fellow authors and colleagues reminded me why I love this community. We're all in different stages of our writing journeys, but we're united by our passion for storytelling and helping others find their voice.

The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and I'm already looking forward to the next symposium. To everyone who attended my session: thank you for your engagement and enthusiasm. Your stories matter, and I can't wait to see them in print.

To the AKA organization: Thank you for creating a space where authors can learn, grow, and connect.

@patreecenikki thank you for the invite to speak at this event and @thewriteoneb it was amazing seeing you again and reconnecting. I fully support your new literary endeavor!

And major thank you to Dalexis for helping me out yesterday. You came through, and I appreciate you 🫶🏾.

If you did not know … November is officially Hip-Hop History month. As @bouncetv culminates our year long campaign — #HipHopStateOfMind celebrating the 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop, we pulled together a dope conversation with Hip-Hop living legends — darealmonielove & @davidbanner.

Here are some behind the scene photos of this production from scouting locations to production wrap! Stay tuned for snippets of the interview.

What I love about working in my field is that you’re only as strong as your team!

It takes a lot of collaboration to make quality work, here’s some BTS photos of some of the team for Season 3 promo of #Johnson
