They Play in Green podcast hosts Mike Popovitch, Sara Laroche and Abbie Israel stopped by the show this week to discuss Vermont Green FC's women's team finishing its inaugural season as national runners-up in the USLW, and the men's team's USL2 playoff run.

The Women in Green built a foundation of togetherness and hard work, and surpassed all expectations in their inaugural season.

We can't wait to see the next iteration of this team next summer!

My daughters love futball. They both play year round with a local club. The older one plays ODP and trains extra any chance she can get. They have been coming to the Vermont Green games since they first began. They have been to the women’s World Cup before and aniyah has been to two women’s world cups. But nothing compares to this local club, the heart, the mission, the love of the game. The attainable aspirations. The fans behind the team. The community built here. Along the way- I’ve attended all that I can with them, learning to enjoy it all as well. The intersection of art and soccer is really a welcoming world I’m learning more about and more so- inspired to create within it. As someone who has always loved working BIG (doing my first mural at 15 for a youth center) i have found a joy in creating Tifos. This is the inaugural first women’s Match tifo for the Vermont Green Women’s team. Made with 95% sustainably sourced materials - the dream of little girls echoing around the state and the tone of the national women’s team moment. Here we are. Wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.
