Black Groove makes a RETURN ✨ - @houseofyesnyc (Friday ~ August 28th)

One root. Many dialects.

Black Groove brings deep house, club, and Afro-electronic sound to @houseofyesnyc — a night built around movement, sonic and geographic. This lineup traces one lineage across cities and continents: New York, Detroit, West Africa, Brazil, and more — each carrying its own dialect of house back to the same root.

The lineup:
🇳🇬 Phillip Morgan @philuk0— Nigerian-American sound designer & producer, weaving West African elements into the electronic Black Atlantic
🏙️ “SHAUNIE” @itz_shaunie_k — Detroit-rooted, genre-spanning soul, nu-disco, house & techno, a sonic archive and present memory. A sonic archive and a present memory at once. The sun shall never set on the negro musical empire.
🔉 StevoBlaque @stevoblaque — Southern-bred, NYC-based, spinning raw euphoric house that uplifts the legacy of Frankie Knuckles and the legends who built it
🌎 Sade James @theythemhehim — Afro-Indigenous Brooklyn native whose genre-defying blends use electronic music as a vehicle for ancestral archival practice
🇧🇷 Djavan Guy @djavanguy — Brazilian-New York native producer mixing Brazilian funk with jersey club, connecting diaspora through sound and movement
Black Groove is a Brooklyn-born collective bridging New York, Alabama, the Caribbean, Africa, and Brazil through sound — deep house, club, and Afro-electronic music played with intention.
